Darin Gnatt thinks Kenny Moore will replace Smitty at the start of camp

Really think Jarrett gets cut and K.Moore stays. Think about if Jarrett goes down during the regular season. We have Lafell and Gettis to replace him and they could probably do a better job. If Smith goes down, you think they'll start Edwards right away? I don't. Either that or we cut Goodson or Sutton or CJ Wilson (unlikely cause that'll leave only 4 CBs excluding Witherspon because he's just a returner/ST guy) to keep 6 WRs.

The only reason I would like to see Moore with the ones is that Jarrett and LaFell provide NO speed. Would rather have Moore and Edwards able to stretch the field....with LaFell and Jarrett fighting it out for the #2 spot as the big blocking WR.

Kenny is not that fast but runs the hell out of a route. At WF he was a surgeon on the field and even back at Butler HS he showed the smarts to get open. That's what will set KM apart. I see Kenny as more of a possession receiver, IMO. AE, Lafell, Gettis have the speed. Jarrett has the size, no speed and no brain when it comes to football knowledge. I'm sure he is a nice guy but it's his 3rd year? and still hasn't proven himself with the coaching staff.

Just so we can make some comparisons here are the 40 times for our receivers:

Moore 4.51

Jarrett 4.62

LaFell 4.58

Geddis 4.47

Edwards 4.41

Trent Guy 4.55

Dexter Jackson 4.27

Charly Martin 4.58

Wallace Wright 4.50

Seems to me there are three groups based on speed. Jackson. Edwards are super fast. The next group includes Gettis, Wright and Moore. Then we have Martin, Jarrett, LaFell and Guy.

We have a lot of guys in the 4.5- 4.6 range.

    • There is a Grand Canyon-sized chasm between your opinion and the opinions of most former player hockey guys who do this for a living.
    • I can only imagine the **** eating grins on the committee right now. "Oh, Bama didn't deserve it? Oh, Miami didn't deserve it? Suck it, haters!" lol
    • To say that, is gaslighting, because it isn’t true. I mean, maybe one or two people do that but it isn’t the predominant behavior. Even Frank has given him credit. I think particularly the Rams game. A couple of glowing posts.   I know I have. Gotta be honest about it because if you aren’t it undermines what else you say.  But the degree of how far I go with credit, in terms of it being a projection of future performance? Not very far. Acknowledge it, but require more of it. There is a lot of bad play to offset.    I tried to remain passive while the last 9 games (post ankle injury) played out. It is just really hard when the lows won’t go away. I failed. As high as a couple of those highs were, there isn’t enough.    I know it is premature to just say I want to move on, made my decision after 6 of those games ended up pretty much really good or not good enough, but I have had enough of being patient and letting him show the reality either way.  So in my view, he Could still validate himself to a decent degree if he smokes the last three starts. But also in my view I don’t expect to see it. Maybe one more high quality start, would be my expectation. So yes he could still somehow justify having the job next year. If that happened I still wouldn’t have much faith given the last three years and all that has transpired. Again, there is a lot of bad play to offset.
