I thought all rappers rip off other peoples tracks.

well, taking a 3 second sample and transforming into something else v. using the original voices & riffs (what most as$es today do) then just sampling it makes a big difference imo

I thought all rappers rip off other peoples tracks.

I think it started as far back as MC Hammer. Seems to me, one of his songs, Prince (the little purple guy) did first. Pray, maybe?

Fat Boys did it with Chubby Checker & The Twist

Fat Boys again with Wipe Out

RUN DMC with Aerosmith's Walk This Way

Puff Daddy & Faith with The Police/Sting's Every Breath You Take.

Fuggies ripped off Roberta Flack with Killing me Softly

Who can forget this one? BJ Thomas' Hooked on a Feeling (I guess this was pre- Hip Hop.

Blue Swede version:

thats what all the stuggling musicians say

Nah, the struggling one's just look at that perspective in the short term. There's no problem in cashing in, but you can still put the music first. Its not like the kids who listen to Kanye know who King Crimson is...so choosing them won't benefit the song's financial success. I'm sure he could synth a beat to use those sh*tty lyrics with. He just takes the easy road.

Also, I don't think y'all are getting my point. I'm just trying to reiterate he's a douche. how can you argue that?

hes arrogant, cocky, and bitchy, which probably describes alot of people. But when hes focused he can make some really good music. before he went mainstream pop (his first two albums) he was my favorite artist. he made some good gym music for me to workout to, but i lost that connection i had w/ music. hopefully he scales back the on the autotune this time around.

Not arguing that.I know he is.Just saying I think he is talented douche.

But on the music part I think artist still would like to put the music first. But the big record companies dont care.its all about the money for them.

    • Their use of the phrase questionable QB situation fits perfectly. He is stuck, for the moment at least, in a situation with Bryce that he can't really get out of. There have been improvements for Young, but he hasn't been a world changer. He had horrible coaching first year and was saddled with a broken down remnant of what had been an afterthought team anyway. There's one year left to keep him on the cheap with the idea that if he cranks out a great season, we've got first dibs on him for the next. If he tanks out, then off to free agency Young goes to either a QB whisperer-type situation or becomes a fairly battle tested back up QB. And we get something to add into our compensatory picks formulation. This is a make or break year for Young, but not for Morgan or Canales.
    • If they lose the ECF in wimpy fashion, like anything less than a Game 7, its time to can Rod.
    • Do you people really give no credence to the fact that Carolina’s went almost two weeks between games while Montreal played an intense seven game series that just ended Monday? That break was too much to be ready to go, and it showed.   The Canes pressed in the first, likely from overzealousness to prove the layoff wasn’t too much. once the Canes settled into their game without pressing, the game was much tighter. Every year, posts in the Panthers forum question how little the starters play in the preseason? Why is that? Because we all know not going at game speed against an opponent can lead to a slow start when the games turn real. Even with prior ECF disappointments, I’m going to hope last night was more akin to starters not playing in the preseason.
