Wade Fishing...

Recommended Posts

Just got back from Tampa where I tried my hand at wade fishing for the first time. Great fun.

Wore some old tennis shoes and found a nice spot amongst the mangroves. Waded out about waist high with the bait bucket tied to me. Caught Pompano, Trout, Redfish, and nasty saltwater cats.

Had a couple of sharks swim within ten feet or so but they weren't very big.

Highly recommended for anyone without a boat.

No thanks.....too many creatures live in the mangroves for my liking to be wading around out there with what basically is a chum bucket attached to you. Especially since I think the Tampa area is chuk full of bullsharks isn't it? Sounds like a good time though. Nice assortment of fish.

It was safe. Other folks were there doing the same. One guy I talked to fished that place for years without incident. The sharks are not interested in you.

They might be interested in whats strapped to your waist though... Your just the collateral damage in the deal.

Yep, bulls, tigers, black tip, hammers. The bulls are mainly after the sea turtles. They can swim way upstream in the fresh water and cause some havoc.

Nah, just a bait bucket of live shrimp. No sharks interested. Its not like I had cut sardines on me.

    • I don't think working from memory is going to be very productive or useful. You would need to compare them all, which is far easier to do from the breakdowns of each game. That has tiered charts that give real data.  But, even then that wouldn't substitute for a trained eye(s) doing detailed film analysis to attempt to determine if we are modifying the offense dramatically for Bryce.
    • I think front office and general team culture under new ownership is sort of on the right track. The rookies all look incredible compared to where you'd expect each one of them to be right now. Lee's in game coaching is awful, he might be ok as a culture and developmental guy but that can't outweigh the in-game miscues and bad game plans. If LaMelo can't figure out the ankles then I think you gotta trade him for a haul, can't keep having your seasons lost every year because he can't stay on the court. And I say that as a big fan of him. Miller I think is unlucky, he looks likely to be an elite core player for us, but if he can't put together a stretch of healthy seasons he would trend towards LaMelo and need to be moved. I used to like Miles on the court a lot more but nowadays he's just an empty stat guy who needs to go. The short lived hot start to the season was fun but unless LaMelo and Miller both get and stay healthy within the next few weeks I can't even see us being a play-in team this year. And even if they do get healthy, we're probably looking at play-in at best, maybe barely compete for that fringe 6th seed.
