a few random thoughts about next season...

Recommended Posts

- I think Edwards should be tried out as the placeholder for FGs and XPs. I don't think it's anything he can't handle. Asking him to do WR, PR, and wildcat may be too much though.

- I'd like to see stewart out of the backfield more. If he gets a good QB who can hit him in stride I think he's good for 5 yards every time.

-When is Rosario going to step up? It doesn't seem like he plays poorly he just doesn't produce. I guess it's our scheme and the poor play of Delhome probably hasn't helped.

It depends on whether he is the number 1 receiver or number 5. Plus he will likely return 4 or 5 punts a game. Many times they make a fair catch which is like a game of catch. And lastly we went whole games without using the wildcat. If he runs it 4 or 5 plays a game it hardly will wear him out.

Yeah if he is a starting receiver but plays in the wildcat plus returns punts that would be excessive. But at this point all of his touches may equal 10-15 opportunities a game. I expect he can handle it.

i don't think that it is asking him to do too much if he can do it well (and i think he will).

i do think it would be good for him to learn how to be a placeholder, though. might add an interesting twist if he jumps up and runs.

I personally just want to see him concentrate on being the best WR that he can be.

But I would like to see some the wacky stuff that we are talking about.

I want to see some more 2 back sets with D Will and Stew both on the field. They are two of our top 5 players on the team....get them out there together.

Rosario is really good when someone can get him the damn ball. delhomme locked onto smitty, but moore looks everywhere which is nice. if you dont believe me about Rosario being any good, just look back at the chargers game, and who remembers that catch on the sideline against NE last year? we just need to get him the ball

Problem with Rosario is that he isn't very fast and can't get separation off the line. Plus he doesn't fight for the ball or have good moves in the open field. I would take Barnidge over Rosario any day.

I don't know about that. While Barnidge is the fastest I wouldn't say Rosario is slow, he's faster than King and is a pretty athletic guy he just needs the opportunities.

Above all else, I'd like the Run First Offense-Turnover Machine Defense preserved AT ALL COSTS. I would like to see some cool poo like options/wildcats/running with it on close field goals/just in general fancy cool poo. But, above all else, our excellent style of play should be preserved.

I agree with what you think about Rosario but I haven't seen Barnidge do better at any of those cons you mentioned about Rosario. He is faster but I haven't seen anything else.

they have been out there together a good bit. They've done wildcat with Williams faking the handoff to Stewart. It seems like a good idea but that's screaming run to the defense which limits it's effectiveness.
