Dear Jake,

*** Jake Delhomme, this is about what he can do for us next year and so on not about 2003 SB memories. He is done forget about it. What is this loyalty poo with this guy. Our solution next year is not David Carr but finding competant QB that can run a strong rushing/play action passing offense. It is simple hand the ball of 60% of the time and the rest just make a few plays down the field to the most explosive player in football and do not turn the ball over. If you cant do that you do not deserve to start on an nfl team much less a team as talented as the panthers.

Jake should retire and then come back as our 2nd string.

I have loyalty towards him, but I want a RING!

We played like poo last night. From the coaching to the defense, but Jake lost that game...And that ain't 11mill....

Sounds nice. Unfortunately, the games by "Bad Jake" now officially outweigh the benefits of any game by "Good Jake." He's too much of a liability to truly count on him anymore, especially considering his good games are directly attributable to how many times Steve Smith can bail him out.

Could not have summed it up better myself. Last night was what swung that pendulum. End of thread/End of argument.

And here come the same old worn out excuses from the Jake Knob Slobbers. How terrible does Jake have to play in order for them to realize that Jake is not that great? I feel that he could go out and throw 10 INTs and have 5 fumbles in 1 game, slap Mr. Richardson, piss on Sam Mills' statue, take a dump on everyone's momma, and the same jock sniffers will still bring up that Super Bowl from 6 years ago as to why Jake is a GOD! Give it up already. Jake is a piece of poo QB who costs this team immensely.

    • this     I never cease to be amazed at the number of people who will run up their blood pressure to get to the grocery store 30 seconds faster or are racing to get to work like it won’t be there at 8:02.   The only thing I’ve ever done that I think added more years to my life besides quitting smoking, was to learn to go with the flow behind the wheel.
    • The term you're looking for is "malinger(ed)", and he didn't.  I'm not sure why Panthers fans act like jaded ex girlfriends.  The dude is clearly injury prone as his time in San Fransico also proves. It's not like he got to San Fran and stopped having problems.
    • My long and rambling post:   The guy is all heart, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he came back even better next year. He’s exactly the guy you lock up. The money won’t ever change the way he plays.  It was a big fumble, but what 1,000 yard back fumbles once in an entire season?  Pride. This team is FINALLY seeing guys who obviously take the game very seriously. Hunt, Chuba, Thielen, Brown, Horn (CB), Coker, Bryce (IMHO). Bye bye, Spider-Man. I don’t see these dudes being OK with teammates half-assing practice or in games. I can see Brown and Horn coming over to talk to somebody.  Good team? Ummm, maybe, but will still likely lose more close games than they win unless this last draft turns in to LOB part 2. That’s a stretch.  Pretty good/decent team. Yes. They finished the season as a pretty good team. I know I sound like a broken record harping back to it, but going in to ATL and putting a 40 burger on them en route to an OT win. A bad Panthers team would have had their brakes beaten off. We’ve seen it.  Rose colored glasses on and bonging a 40 of hopium: There are watershed moments that occur that change the course of franchises, both good and bad. If Fox doesn’t pull Rodney at halftime, the epic journey that was 2003 never happens. On the negative side, Cam taking that one hit from Watt was the end of any and all Panthers relevancy and we’ve been the biggest losers in all of pro sports as a result. Watershed moments. LOB draft. Vinny goes down and the goat is born.  Will the ATL game be the spark that this franchise has desperately needed? Could it be that they hit the mega million jackpot with Princley and Scourton as eat QBs for breakfast? Sure would be nice having 2 all-pro edge guys on the cheap for the next 4 years.  A lot of unknowns, but at least it actually feels  fun again.
