I feel dumb asking this...

Its been a few years since I took English so maybe there are a few smart people that can help me.

How do you use “;

Ive been using it in a list. Such as, “I'm going to work on;

Can anyone tell me how the proper way to use it is?

I'm a semicolon fiend; I use them all the time. It's my favorite punctuation; often used to my own detriment.

On the other hand, I don't use colons very often, because: when I'm writing out longhand I don't like making lists, colons are only useful when making a bulleted or comma-delimited itemized list, and this looks like crap.

It's a worthless piece of punctuation; I suggest forgetting about it.

It's more fluid and less jarring when reading; you are a poo poo head.

Kral doesn't know how to use a semicolon; his example with the semi-colon isn't even the correct usage; it would only be a period there.

Semicolons can be used to streamline writing; reducing the number of sentances needed complete a thought.

Semicolons can be used to streamline writing. Semicolons can minimize the number of sentances used to complete a thought.

Sentence 2 would be a comma because there is no subject in the second phrase.

    • I didn't move the goal posts. But anyone who follows football who wants to engage in a rational discussion can't argue that 10 7th round picks are equal to 10 1st rounders in value. The argument has always been we haven't spent as much on defense has we have on offense. Draft picks have value just like salary. We have not spent the same amount of draft pick salary cap on defense that we have on offense since drafting Bryce. It's not even close. Just the 2 1sts we used on Bryce, 2 overall 1sts have a value of 6000. That doesn’t even factor in DJ Moore or the 2 2nds. Bryce cost more than everything we've spent on defense in 6 damn years.
    • We need to hope this scenario plays our next week he fails with pressure…what that means with Evero, is beyond me
    • Woukd be a great addition You know the issues from my prespective, 2 things the Panthers must do 1. Edge or pass rushers or 2 oline or 3 oline or as Andy Reid says, when in doubt, draft a lineman it is time   That oline is troubling plus a small person at QB  they   1. Can do a lot better than mayes at center, 2. and lewis has had injuries all season. 3. Moton should not have  been resigned long term, 4. corbett is a shadow and will probably be released  5 and Christianson coming off Achilles   6 and the kicker, would be Ickey’s contract if they decide to keep him INMO rookie and contracts will be needed to offset all that
