They will ALL be back...

Lets start with Delhomme by saying...we literally have no other options next year. Maybe if we had a first round pick then something completely out of character could happen with this franchise by putting it in the hands of a rookie but that is a HUGE stretch and everyone on this board knows that. The best thing that we can hope for is that the staff at least TRIES to look toward the future by drafting a QB (don't need a first rounder to be a good option for the future). When all is said and done Delhomme will be the QB through the rest of his contract.

After a 12-4 season Fox will not get canned...its just not happening. Richardson said "playoffs or bust" but he didn't say "superbowl or bust" at the beginning of the season. Fox and Hurney did what they needed to do to secure their jobs next season. The other factor playing out here is that Richardson is not a "Dan Snyder type" owner. He likes to be methodical and play by the Dan Rooney rules which are be patient and success will come. If you want to look at the definition of patience then look at Bill Cowher's record and playoff losses. This is the blueprint that Richardson runs his team by...

Trgovac will be back because ultimately Fox will take some of the responsibility for the defensive game-plan and the aforementioned Richardson patience will prevail.

The best thing that we can hope for is that Hurney works some magic in the offseason, is able to keep Gross and Peppers, and we can find a way to get our secondary to play up to par. Jake will bounce back because he is a competitor and because he really has no other choice. Jeff Davidson cannot be without blame for not putting the onus on the run game and helping Jake out but ultimately the worst of it falls on Jake and Turdo.

All of that said...I am a big fan of making changes in situations like this. I like Fox and really want the staff to look long and hard to see if this really is the guy they want motivating their team. I think Fox is a good HC and he needs a DC to challenge his philosophy (maybe someone from the Jim Johnson tree). I trust the Richardsons to make the right decision.

Despite the fact that I don't think it will happen, I want Turdo gone...there is too much talent on this team for us to execute such a poor defensive game-plan.

To tell you the truth...I haven't decided if I want Jake back next season. Again, I think that he will be back but I can't decide if that is the best thing for this team. We have an extremely young and talented core because we have started drafting extremely well but maybe it is time to put some of that draft expertise to work on the QB position. If the right guy is there then we need to take him. A strong, confident, intelligent pocket passer is what I want for this team...

Excellent assessment imo! I think for many of us, the frustration we are "expelling" is the fact that the time to make a move at qb was this season, but Fox didn't want to rock Jake's boat. Many of us have seen this coming for quite some time, so to us it's not a "one bad playoff game thingy". But, here we are, fooked at the qb position. But, IF the defense gets fixed, be it a new co-ordinator or whatever, we do have sufficient talent to make a good run next season, even with Bozo at qb.

The average human being can logically assume that Trgovac would be fired. Any other head coach would give his DC his walking papers on Monday after a performance like that.

But the reason Trgovac has managed to survive is because Fox actually is in love with the scheme. It's his, not Trgovac's.

I know how much I would love to see us pick up a defensive assistant from Philly, they really swarm to the ball, but there will be none of that here, because our soft zone coverage is totally better than Philly's shut-down, timely-blitzing, ball-hawking defense on any day of the week.

The only thing I hate about Jake is his decision making ability. He gambles way to much. I think Derrick Anderson can be another Tony Romo if he comes here.

Tony Romo and Jake Delhomme would be put in the same category as far as decision making. Ony thing Romo has over Delhomme is mobilty to gain yards on the run or buy extra time.

Derek Anderson has shown nothing more than a 2nd string QB could do. Plenty of them out their that wouldn't cost us extra.

I think Jake Delhomme can be another Jake Delhomme when he starts for us next season. However, we need to press the URGENT button on finding someone else to take his place when the time comes. Moore, you would think could be the guy with several seasons under Davidson's offense.

 I just threw a name out there that I remembered would be a FA. I think Boller is a project that needs a lot of work and the Panthers have never been know for developing QBs. We need a QB that can already play and has the fundamentals already and will get better with out a lot of guidance from others.

If Delhomme back next season, I will not spend a f*ckin dollar on this team.

Just curious, how much did you spend on the team this year? Let's put your threat in context here. Does this mean you won't invest the time in watching the commercials while they play, or are you a PSL holder who will forfeit or sell your seats to avoid buying tickets?

I drop a couple grand a year myself, not including tailgates, babysitters, etc. I'll be spending every dime of it again next year no matter who's on the sidelines. I'm really frustrated with the staff in particular--a bad game can happen but bad preparation shouldn't ever be a factor. However, I'm not smart enough to think I know what's best for running a football team and judging by overall results I think Fox is. So while the decisions he makes may frustrate me, I'm going to spend my money on my team and support them directly.

By the way, Fox's job was never in danger before the season began. Those of you who think so are taking message board chatter and journalistic opinion as face. You may as well go read ProFootballTalk and take what they say as fact, which means both Peppers and Gross will be Redskins next year.

So really, if you intend to punish the Panthers somehow for this season, why not tell us how and what it will mean to them in real world terms?

    • As a Panthers fan I know what incompetence and doubling down on mistakes looks like. The Bills are fools for not just going ahead and cleaning house. Already seen that scenario play out with Fitterer. And it will end the same way for them.
    • Ive watched every snap he has played and the dude has a howitzer  CJ Bailey is noted for having impressive, "elite" arm strength with the ability to "push the ball downfield with ease," consistently completing deep shots with high yards-per-attempt, and threading tight windows with velocity, making him a modern NFL-caliber quarterback prospect with no significant arm strength concerns, per 247Sports, The Duke Chronicle, and Trinity Road Times. He's described as a "twitchy thrower" with long limbs, capable of making difficult throws under pressure and creating plays off-schedule, demonstrating both power and placement.    Key Aspects of CJ Bailey's Arm Strength:   Deep Ball Prowess: He ranks highly among Power Four quarterbacks for deep shot attempts, averaging significant yards per attempt, showing he can easily get the ball downfield. Velocity & Zip: He delivers throws with "requisite zip," layering the ball over defenders and hitting receivers in stride, notes Write For California. Tight Windows: Bailey successfully challenges tight windows and places the ball well, even when layering it over multiple defenders, say Write For California and 247Sports. Off-Schedule Plays: He can make throws with power and accuracy even when scrambling and creating his own space, showing advanced arm talent, notes 247Sports.    In short, Bailey possesses the arm talent expected of a high-level modern quarterback, able to generate both power and touch to make all throws, say 247Sports, The Duke Chronicle, and Trinity Road Times.
    • He has gunslinger tendencies but I am telling you, I don't see a high caliber NFL arm. It's very, very average or below.
