The last time Peppers didn't do well in the preseason, he ended up with 2.5 sacks in the regular season. I don't see him having that bad of a season again, because I'm still convinced that he had some sort of medical problem that year, but he does usually look good in the preseason and then it carries over. It certainly did last year, even though he disappeared in a couple of games.

I remember him literally picking Chris Samuels up off the ground and THROWING him into Campbell. It was one of the most super-human things I had ever seen. It was also the last time Samuels played in football.

Peppers usually dominates in the pre-season because it gets fans hopes out of control and more easily crushed later on in RS.

yeah I put a video of that on youtube but my account got deleted. His bull rush is one of his strong points. The sack on favre in 09 was very similar.

I'm watching the Bears/Chargers game on NFLN right now, Bears announcers acknowledged it was a "quiet" night for Peppers... LOL

Peppers wanted to go somewhere and just be "one of the guys" but you can't just be one of the guys when your making 100 million. I can't imagine how ugly it's gonna get with the Chicago media if he starts the season off cold and doesn't get any sacks for the first few games.

Peppers stands a good chance of becoming Haynesworth 2.0

LOL, boy those conversations look familiar... I like how someone pointed out that Chris Harris "debunked" the myth by saying he doesn't take plays off... WELL OF COURSE CHRIS HARRIS SAID THAT, HE'S BEING A GOOD TEAMMATE.

I was really tempted to reply in that thread and answer the challenge of naming one teammate who said Peppers was lazy (Beason) but it's much more fun watching them tear each other apart.

      When I tell people I was at that game, they usually say oh that’s so cool you had the experience. I call it soul crushing. Why? The weeks and months leading up to it were great, the team was fun to watch every week…some weeks the offense was unstoppable and carried the team (saints and giants road games), other times the defense carried the load (jaguars, tampa). Lots of back and forth games against good teams (Seattle and Indy). Good young players on the team, but the veteran leadership was incredible…from Cam, Olsen, Kalil and J Stew to Luke, TD, Norman, Tillman, Jared Allen, CJ. Role players like Fozzy Whitaker, Cotchery (he caught that MFer), Philly brown, Kyle love, AJ Klein, and so on.  The Friday before the nfc championship my wife and I after a few drinks said let’s see what prices look like for flights/accommodations and we got to talking about how much prices would increase if we waited until we found out if we would be in the big game. We said screw it, we are only out $200 if we have to cancel.  Of course we come out and just pulverized the cardinals in front of the most raucous crowd by far we’ve ever had. We had no idea what we would do for game tickets and then found out a neighbor who worked for the team could get us 2 for face value (each employee got two of their own for free, something cool that JR did).  But then the NFL mafia decided that the storyline of manning going out on top like Elway would give them more goodwill than a non traditional QB who didn’t connect with their target demo and the rest is history. I never have and never will watch that game again. I am just hoping I can see them win one in the 2nd half of my life.
