How to Resolve Panthers QB Situation (Not some Statue like Leftwich)

First and foremost the player I KNOW can take us the distance might sound crazy to some of you, but here me out before you judge. First of all this man has not taken a snap since his glory days back in '82 but look at Matt Cassell this year, he had not started since High School either so that proves it can be done. This man also runs a highly successful door to door buisness. With the success of his buisness all signs point to great decision making which Jake proved on Saturday he does not have. This guy has a stronger arm then anybody in NFL history, he can throw the ball approx. 450 yards. He will cost less per year then Jake does per snap. He would be a High School State Champ if Coach would have put him in the 4th quarter. This guy has been saying since '82 all he wants is one more chance and God Dammit we need to give him his chance.

if NE will let him go, draft him, and let the guy sit and learn behind Jake... I also like the idea of bringing Vinny back as a QB coach/ advisor to the team.

But really, defense comes first.. christ.. after the first half of the season, the defense has been getting worse and worse... John Fox's style works with a potent, complete defense, but falls apart otherwise.

    • I wonder if the Hornets view Kon and McNeeley more as forwards and plan to ship off Green/Okogie/Smith for center help. I hope they don’t plan to ship off Sexton as I like what he brings to the team. (2) G - Ball, Mann, Simpson (two-way) (3) G - Sexton, Dinwiddie, Connaughton (3) F - Miller, Knueppel, McNeeley, James (two-way) (3) F - Bridges, Williams, Salaun (3) C - Diabate, Kalkbrenner, Plumlee
    • 3 main reasons he was better in 2023 and none of them concern me for his NFL prospects 1. Totally new coaching staff that was a massive downgrade and had god awful play calling and designs, the entire fan base was ready to run the coaching staff out of town a month into their first season and the play caller ended up getting changed because it was so bad. 2. Along with the staff downgrade, his QB played significantly worse after being the Pac 12 Freshman of the Year in 2023.  Constantly missed T-Mac when he was wide open, lost out on a number of TDs and a good amount of yardage, half the time T-Mac still almost made miraculous catches on the bad passes too. 3. He hurt his ankle over the summer and missed all of fall camp only to return to practice a few days before the season started and I think he had to deal with it all season long and was slightly limping at times mid season too, but kept fighting through it to still be a 1st team All American.
    • Good luck to Burns. He’s fine as a third pairing defensemen but Rod is too stubborn to do that.
