Goodson as a WR

I know it was probably talked about alot on here last year but I haven't seen talk of it this season, probably because he has been injured. But he catches pretty much everything thrown his way and he is a speedy/agile guy. Throw him in as the #2 WR next week and see how he does. On a side note though, Jarrett caught three of the 4 passes thrown his way.

I would like to believe that he would contribute a lot as a receiver, but most of his catches are coming from out of the backfield. Who knows how he would do if he was jammed at the line or covered by a reliable corner. I'm not sure if I could trust this staff in converting a player to a new position. Yea it worked for Davis, but I think that's because his abilities were naturally for a LB not safety. Martin has done good also, but I think it would be harder for a player who is naturally a RB to convert to receiver and be able to routinely run crisp routes, than it is to convert a CB to Safety or a Safety to LB.

Excellent post. A thought out one too...

I have to agree.

While I agree that the transition to WR may be a hard one from any position, I think RB->WR would be the easiest. A RB already knows routes, knows how to catch, and with experience at pass protection a RB shouldn't have much trouble getting off the line. At the very least see if he can be plausible for a WR position. Why load up talent at the RB position (2 superb RBs, and 2 to 3 good RBs) but only have one WR worthy of mention?

I know nothing of actually playing football (and little of football anyway :P), but I wouldn't really say RB's know a lot about routes like a WR does. They are used to a very dynamic environment (as in, blocks being made, a hole opening up, etc.) whereas receivers run specific routes.

We can use him like Saints did Bush. But he's perfect in the slot. I would like that to be his main position, because pretty soon if we keep bringing up him off the bench for 1 catch passes people will catch onto it

They NEED to start taking a look after what we're witnessing

of course he catches screens and little passes but can he run routes, catch in traffic, etc?

    • Burns quit on his team, full stop. Burns was and continues to be a liability in the run.    JC has never looked this bad before the concussion. He always was a very solid tackler, from what I remember.  I’ll take the overall body of his work over his current down stretch. I’ve never had to question his heart. The FO has royally screwed up roster management in many other deals but retaining Horn continues to be the right move. He will be back to form next season.
    • I get it. I was making a joke that we have zero chance of winning.
    • Did Bryce play bad? Yes. Did the whole offense play bad? Yes.  Was Canales bad with his playcalling? Yes. Now with that being said I don't put this loss solely on Bryce Young. The seahawks are a much more talented team than us and to win in a scenario like that you need some luck which we didn't have that day.  Bryce has shown this year that you can win with him at QB but the problem is that he doesn't have the ability to elevate the rest of the team around him. Bryce was a number 1 overall pick who we traded a haul of assets to get going into the end of his 3rd year the expectations need to be much higher than 54 yards passing.  It's been nice to get some wins this year and have a chance to make the playoffs and Bryce has played a part in that but at some point the front office needs to see that you can't keep giving Bryce a pass for these low production games.
