Should Coach Fox be Given a new Contract?

Based off of the Fox to Cleveland thread, just thought I would ask and get a temp of the board.

I'd go with yes, assuming his staff come along. I'm really going to make my decision once I see what he can do with this young team. I would like to see some more flare in the offense, but would ultimately like his staff to stay, especially Meeks.

Based on conditions right now, August 27, 2010 1:52 EST, considering we had an 8-8 2009 regular season record, heard comments like "Jake Delhomme gives us the best chance to win", and now a 0-2 2010 Preseason, and the current catastrophe of Armanti Edwards... hell no.

Yes. He's one of the better coaches in the league, whether Panthers fans want to admit it or not. If he left Carolina he would have absolutely no problem finding a HC job somewhere else. I think with the group of coaches he has assembled (mainly referring to Meeks and Davidson), we have a hell of a staff that can take this team far. We have a very talented young core of players and Fox can make some great things happen with them. If Fox stays around I'm confident we will get back to the Super Bowl before the Stewart/Otah/Kalil/Beason/Brown/Clausen/Munnerlyn/Godfrey/Martin era is over.

Should he be offered an extension? YES

Should he turn it down and move on? YES

Fox has taken the biggest risk of his head coaching career this off-season. If the reward looks equally big, he ought to get a chance to reap it. That doesn't mean he will, what's more likely is he will be allowed to walk by letting his contract expire and not matching the offers he will receive.

If Fox has done the right thing, the next guy is going to look like a genius.

I don't always agree with Fox, and I think he's stubborn and set in his ways about things, but he's a good coach. We should keep him and along with Meeks I think they can make this team really good. I suspect he will move on however.
