David Gettis..

He's big, fast and physical and looks like he might turn out to be a great receiver in time. We need to keep this guy around. If he gets cut and Jarrett stays on the roster I'll sh*t a chicken. He's probably every bit as good as Jarrett right now and has much more upside.

Hope your asshole is ready for that cause we prob will keep Jarrett around just a few more years to see if he will develop.

I don't get this love fest with Gettis. He catches 3 (out of 6 targets) passes this past game and everyone is all about him. Sure he may have potential, which all of the WRs behind smitty have, but come on man.

IF, and I mean IF he makes the first round of cuts Saturday, it will be because they keep 6 receivers and cut DJ. Then Gettis will be cut a couple of days later to make room for another WR they pick up on waivers. Either way, Gettis is practice squad bound once season starts.

The reason is out of all the Rookie WR's he has the most potential, he could easily develop into a really good WR. He has a rare combination of size 6-3/6-4 and speed 4.4.

Many. . . wait let me fuggin repeat this so that we can all get this. . . . MUFAHKIN MANY men in the world are 6-3 or 6-4 and have 4.4 speed. I would be willing to say 10's of thousands. A chitload of those 10's of thousands can catch too. There are only a precious few who have the focus and determination to be great. Thats the way I see it, although, that being said, I do think Gettis is mean. . and Im so serious about this remark that I will now google the word "mean" for seriousfactorability

K, well as weird and creepy as this picture is?. . . Gettis is that mean.

DAMN!

See thats where your wrong. If every man had 4.4 speed they would be in the NFL. When Smith came into the league he was running a 4.4 40 so thats not common by any means. Also Gettis has good hands as well and the combo of tall, good hands, and speed are rare. His route running and ball handling have to improve but that can be fixed and route running is something that improves with time. Ask Smith who was not all that great at it to start with. Also with all that said he plays ST so he can contribute even if he dose not see the field as a WR in the game. Thats something Edwards and Jarrett cant do.

sense, man!. . . you must make it :D just kiddin.

I get what youre trying to say, and I must say I still disagree. His size and speed might seem rare but everyone of us who played "competitive" high school sports has played against more than one of them. Youre kidding yourself if you think he's that "rare". "Experts" abuse the fug out of that term in the draft and quite frankly if it were that "rare" then he would be drafted in the first 2 rounds. It is, however, "uncommon" to have that size and speed, but not fuggin "rare".

The ones who become successful are the ones who have the brains and ambition to learn all the routes AND to get up after they fall down. They will figure out how to set defenders up, find the soft spots in a zone, play through pain, know ALL the tendencies of the defenses and individual players so they can exploit it. THAT's a true pro that starts in the NFL.

Edit: and you were quick with the neg rep, Snake. Damn, man, dont bother having a meaningful intelligent conversation with me about it or nothing, just fuggin hook me up with that neg rep and make your point which MUST be absolutely correct. :D

Drew Carter was one of the fastest players ever drafted by Carolina and he ran a 4.3. Usain Bolt was the fastest to ever run the 40 in the NFL and I think he ran a unofficial 3.9 to 4.1

Here is something to help you understand. Most men that ran under a 4.4 in the NFL were smaller then 6'3 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/40-yard_dash Its the size speed combo thats important.

IDK what your high school is putting into the water cooler but if 6'2+ and runs a 4.4 40 is common then I would hate to see your first string guys. Chris Johnson and Vernon Davis move over we have sub 4 football team.

I don't care how many people in the world have Gettis' speed and size. Let me say this. When you are in our situation at WR and you take a risk letting that kind of talent get snatched up before making it to the practice squad in favor of keeping Martin or Moore something is wrong. Sure, if were the Colts or Saints and are stacked at WR then maybe you "try" to stash him away. But we MUST keep him. We have ONE proven WR, as we all know. I just cannot see cutting him. He has only gotten better throughout camp, which shows he at least has some type of work ethic.

I agree. I may be hyping him a little too much but cause he is still rough around the edges and he dose not protect the ball well but with some time he could at least be a good slot WR.

Uhmm dude Idk wtf is wrong with you, but extend me the courtesy of reading my posts before you attempt to make a point. I said "uncommon".

Eh if you dont want to read my posts thats just dandy, mang, but dont step up to me like you know it all, cause you dont. I said "that's the way I see it" and I meant what I said. You really dont think there are at least 10000 people in this world. . . out of 6 BILLION that are taller than 6'2 that can run a 4.40?

Let me help YOU understand. . your saying not even one out of 600,000 can meet these criteria.

hehehe fug off with this bullchit, say whatever you want

    • 6 pages of tuka and Seltzer arguing is actually 97 pages long
    • 100%. And these same people will claim you have an agenda. You can't have it every way. We had the lowest rated defense in the league last year. Statistically the worst ever. By PFF grades (for whatever that's worth- but they are readily accepted, used, and conveyed by most "reputable" sources), the defense was the worst ever. Not only that, PFF rated our receiving corp the worst in football last season. The absolute worst... out of 32 teams. Which is why regardless of the lip service Canales and Morgan paid to the current guys, they knew it would be criminal not to give Bryce more help. People fixating on team stats and not taking these things into context are stupid, plain and simple, and I'm for one thankful they're not running this team (or probably anything for that matter bc they obviously can't discern reality. Again, going back to the eyeball test these Narrative Nancies seem to hate so much, did they not see the windows Bryce was putting balls into? Have the generally not watched much NFL? Please, please show me the film where all these NFL QBs are making throws like this to this point Bryce was "below average" down the stretch compared to them. Bryce made more wow throws in that 3 game stretch of the Bucs, Chiefs, and Eagles than every other QB combined in all the years since since Cam got hurt I genuinely am baffled by people that can watch throws like that and act like it's nothing. I guarantee you Steve Spagnola, Todd Bowles, and and Vic Fangio didn't think it was nothing after watching the little guy torch them with players those teams would be embarrassed to trot out at the skill position players. The national media spent all year making excuses for Mahomes not having elite weapons when he had multiple 1st & 2nd round talents at the skill positions along with future HoFers in Kelce and Hopkins. Bryce wasn't throwing for 300 yards every week with David Moore and Adam Theilen in spite of jaw dropping throws and you want to say the guy played below average. For those people, again, we ain't watching the same sport. And the name calling doesn't change that... The vitriol and projection... it's off the effing charts with these people.
    • "Well you see if you remove this terrible game that terrible game this other terrible game and then focus on these games you'll see he's actually one of the better QB's in the league and he's actually as good as Jayden Daniels". My god this place is delusional. I love it.
