Just incase you needed more evidence that Peppers is a moron...

So under this "logic", if a player has ever done something good for an organization then that organization should hang onto that player forever... even when it's clear that the players skills have eroded to the point that they're a liability.

Hey Julius, Jerry Rice did allot of good stuff for the 49ers, why did they let him go?

Jake not sounding so smart either

"It always pissed me off when they said he didn't play hard because that was just BS,'' Delhomme said in a phone interview Wednesday. "He never missed practice and he never looked to miss practice, like some veterans do. He went at it hard every day.''

also that article would be 1/3 longer if they quoted JP exactly. Probably more like

"I ..um..love..um.. Jake,'' Peppers said of guy he played with in Carolina for seven years. "I..um..loved him as a..um.. teammate. I ..um..loved him as a ..um..person. He's a..um.. great guy. I'll ..uh..be excited to see him.''

This article clearly reinforces why Jake had to be let go once he lost the starting job.

Jake was very well liked and respected. The locker room would have been divided if he were kept as the back-up. Jake would not have caused an issue, but it would have been a festering problem.

As for Peppers, I am glad he is gone. Not that I hate the guy...or think that he sucks...I just do not believe that his effort and production is worth $20 million a year.

Love it.. only the folks who see you every day can make the call that you are slacking, according to Pep. Umm.. I'm sorry, but when you have complete games where the only thing you produce is 1 tackle and maybe 2 pressures... people don't need to see you every day to call that one.

I've been over his leaving since the day after... just think that's a funny comment to make right there. No Pep, no one could be qualified to make a judgment statement about your play in a real game, with gametime implications, and wins and losses to worry over unless they see you in the lockerroom daily.

He complimented Jake Dehomme as a person and as a teammate. Gahhhhhh

:willy_nilly:

Here's what I took from this to make Pep a moron:

"Jake kind of got a raw deal down there,'' Peppers said. "That's the business side of it. It was just unfortunate, but I'm happy he landed on his feet.

I was a fan of Delhomme for years. I defended him against naysayers more times than I can count...

But he did not "get a raw deal". In 2009, h had a career low completion percentage of 55.5% (as a Panther), with 8 TD versus 18 Interceptions, and a 59.4 QB rating. He did this without any significant injuries to himself or the offense... and the same top 2 receivers that he had for our playoff runs. On top of that, he got to walk away with one HELL of a severance package.

Jake Delhomme did not "get a raw deal". He let his fan base down with poor play that merited his departure. That's not JUST business... its also about doing your job... something he lost touch with for some reason in 2009.

Like I said, you're fixated.

    • I don't think working from memory is going to be very productive or useful. You would need to compare them all, which is far easier to do from the breakdowns of each game. That has tiered charts that give real data.  But, even then that wouldn't substitute for a trained eye(s) doing detailed film analysis to attempt to determine if we are modifying the offense dramatically for Bryce.
    • I think front office and general team culture under new ownership is sort of on the right track. The rookies all look incredible compared to where you'd expect each one of them to be right now. Lee's in game coaching is awful, he might be ok as a culture and developmental guy but that can't outweigh the in-game miscues and bad game plans. If LaMelo can't figure out the ankles then I think you gotta trade him for a haul, can't keep having your seasons lost every year because he can't stay on the court. And I say that as a big fan of him. Miller I think is unlucky, he looks likely to be an elite core player for us, but if he can't put together a stretch of healthy seasons he would trend towards LaMelo and need to be moved. I used to like Miles on the court a lot more but nowadays he's just an empty stat guy who needs to go. The short lived hot start to the season was fun but unless LaMelo and Miller both get and stay healthy within the next few weeks I can't even see us being a play-in team this year. And even if they do get healthy, we're probably looking at play-in at best, maybe barely compete for that fringe 6th seed.
