5. Defensive uncertainty: The defense doesn't look like a Fox defense. The days of Carolina's defense being built around the front four are long gone, with Julius Peppers' departure representing the disappearance of the last dinosaur. The Panthers are counting on some young guys emerging up front, and players such as Greg Hardy and Eric Norwood showed flashes in the preseason. But linebacker Jon Beason is the only player opposing offenses have to account for on every play. Beason is a tremendous player, but he can't carry a defense and is going to need help from a lot of angles.

The consensus is that experts pick from Large Market to Small market and call them "power rankings" in preseason most of the time. No shocker there.

I am not sure market has anything to do with it. With a few exceptions, they picked the entire NFC to finish as it did last year. They flipped four pairs of teams, Minnesota and Green Bay, New York and Philly, Saints and Atlanta, and Arizona and San Francisco, and thats it as far as I can tell. They had all four teams that finished at the bottom last year finishing at the bottom this year and three of the third place teams remaining in the same spot.

Only two of the selections are even mildly interesting. They have the Falcons over the Saints, and Green Bay over the Vikes.

Same with the elite rankings. They are basing them on how the team finished last year. If the Panthers were coming off of an Championship game or Superbowl win; Smith, Beason, and Gross would all be elite players.

      there is one common denominator in the 2003 & 2015 Carolina Panthers teams they both had ELITE top tier Qb play.  it would require a MVP type of season from Bryce Young to have the same type of success that Jake Delhomme had in  2003 & or Cam Newton in 2015 & lead this team to a SuperBowl is this going to happen or is there any reason to believe Bryce Young is capable of playing similar to Jake Delhomme in 2003 or Cam Newton in 2015 ? well no there is no absolutely NO reason whatsoever to believe that this is going to happen in 2026 ..just saying

      Trevin Wallace - One Final Shot...or is Cherelus someone to watch?

      I'd actually like to see Cherelus get a fair shot to win the job in camp. Wallace is decent in drop zone coverage, but he gets abused in the play action game and is often times out of position in the run game. It might just be me, but I swear every time I watch Wallace play, I see multiple plays a game were it looks like he's just trying to be blocked. Watching Cherelus last year he at least looked like he was trying to hit someone on every play. Wallace plays like a LB who doesn't trust what he sees and it makes him passive and cautious versus Cherelus who regardless of if his decision is right or wrong goes at it 100%.

      Agreed.  Hasn’t happened to me either, but I feel very strongly about it.  That’s not just one of the worst things a woman could do to a man, it’s a power inherent to only women and is one of the worst things a HUMAN being can do to another.  A man can’t “hide” a pregnancy or maternity.  It’s impossible.  And that sucks for anyone that has to go through that. I always got a weird vibe off her and just found her very unlikeable.  Annoying even.  I’ve always been good at reading people and there was just something about her to me that was off-putting, somewhere under the surface.  And here we are…  she is despicable.
