Where would you rather live--Greensboro or Charlotte?

I've lived in Greensboro and my wife is from Charlotte. Neither of us would live in either place ever again.

What kind of work will you be looking for?

greensboro is awful, just awful. I don't know why anybody would want to stay there longer than a few hours.

I can only say this then: My brother just graduated college in Greensboro with a degree in computer programming. So far, no luck in finding work. I have a few friends in Charlotte who can't find work in the desk job world to save their lives.

Meanwhile, the state government just passed a tax incentives bill for video game companies in NC, most of which are in the Triangle and along the coast. Any kind of computer science degree, that's where I'd go.

If you're hell bent on either Greensboro or Charlotte, I'd look into the Caterpiller and Novalink plants that have been announced for the Triad area. Maybe there's something there for you. If not, and the Triad strikes your fancy, I can get you some factory work while you look for something in your field of study. Don't know about the Charlotte area's job offerings.

Personal opinion though, I hate Charlotte.

Greensboro is hands down one of the worst cities in America...and I grew up in Fayetteville which ain't that great either. I personally loved Charlotte while I was there, but above all go where you can get a job.
