Panthers a sleeper?

Works for me....... despite all the doom and gloom, going back to the offiseason, there are some of us who have pointed out what the article said and the possibility the Panthers could be ok. There definately were and still are questions markes - BUT when you look at this team compared to last season its not that bad in equivalent talent and Delhomme lost at least 2-4 games alone all by himself last season. With just avg QB play there is no reason why they could not improve on their record. Of course now the offense will need to step it up, but they are no worse then they were last season.

Gruden has had a front-row seat to what Double Trouble can do and when he adds that to what our defense has shown this year he sees a team that has the potential to totally dominate the time of possession.

It doesn't matter what Drew Brees can do when he's standing on the sideline.

We are a sleeper. The special teams looked rough early, but seems to be finding itself. The defense has looked good. I am waiting to see if it can look that good when offenses are doing more planning and making adjustments (since we are relatively young and inexperienced) and if it can play that way the whole game. The offense has to block better, and find a consistent passing game. If some of those things happen, we could be in the hunt for a playoff spot. If all of them happen, we could be in the hunt for more. If none of them happen, this will be a long year.

    • https://x.com/4thand1show/status/1975274357174784272?s=46   saw this this morning and came to post something similar. I didn’t just love the team or the wins, I loved those dudes man. They put everything they had out there every Sunday. You didn’t see a rep where anybody on that field was low effort in that era, and if you did they were quickly sent packing.
    • …is Brycen Tremayne with 108 yards. Not sure what that tells us but I imagine it’s some sort of gumbo consisting of the following: - Bryce can’t push the ball downfield  - contrary to what many were saying this offseason, the wr still needs a lot of work.  - we need Coker back badly.  - Brycen is pretty good! Congrats to that young man! Curious to hear other’s read on it. Was a pretty surprised to see he had more yards than anyone other than Tet and thought that was symptomatic of our issues on offense.
    • I don’t think many fans would have guessed the Chiefs and Ravens would be where they are right now. Same goes for some surprise packages like the Colts, I’m not sure many would have put money on them being top of their division after five weeks. It’ll be interesting to see if this continues!   Not necessarily. The Chargers have lost both starting OL and their 1st and 2nd choice RBs. They fell apart against Washington. The Broncos have just beat the Eagles, so they’d be my favourite in that division, but they are still only one win ahead of the Chiefs. All the Chiefs need is a couple of results to go their way and they’ll be right in the fight for the AFC East. I think that division is going to be very close and probably not a 12 or 13 win division like predicted. Unless of course the Broncos kick on.
