The "Jeff Davidson sucks" mantra.

Fox pretty much approves the playbook, and Davidson is calling the plays. So instead of calling the runs, Davidson is calling the pass. And that's what's got everyone pissed.

When you say stupid things after the game that suggest the elevated passing numbers were by design because you wanted to surprise the opponent, you kind of cut the legs out from under people who post the exact same point you just tried to make. We didn't abandon the run when we were done, we did it when we were up by one.

That simply isn't true. Our first possession in the third quarter, when we were down by 1, was 5 runs/9 plays.

The next possession, down eight, we passed three times, and went three and out. But that was because we passed on first down, and Moore took a sack, and we didn't have a choice for 2nd and 3rd down. (and this was after the announcers had said we're too predictable, always running on first down )

The following possession was when we were down by 15, and THAT'S when we fully abandoned the run.

The one thing that really bothered me about Davidson though, is that he kept calling PA passes, without establishing the running game first. I absolutely hate that, because those plays take too long to develop and it forces the QB to turn his back to the defense. You just can't do that when you have given the defense no reason to bite on the fake.

I'm going to co-sign this. I even saw playaction when it was clear we were going to be passing.

At least you admit it was Davidson calling the plays. :)

So when we were down by 8 (one score), and it's still the third quarter, why no runs? When we were down by 15 (two scores) and there was still plenty of time, why no runs? When we're on the four yard line, why no runs?

If we had run the ball three straight times from the four, we would have kicked a field goal. On the next possession, the same behavior from the 12 would have netted us six. Then you get the safety and find yourself on the 39 yard line, with 3:57 to go, momentum, and down by a single touchdown.

Or you can put it all on a first-time starting QB, like Davidson did.

Davidson does suck as an offensive coach.

He hasn't done ANYTHING impressive since he's been here.

In too many games he abandons what the Panthers do best.

And he has no idea what balance is.

He either goes all pass, or all run. Heaven forbid he mix it up, and keep defenses off balance.

While the o-line played terrible yesterday, Davidson did NOTHING to help.

You do realize that this offense under Davidson looks damn near the same as the offense under Henning.....we run Henning out of town and he has one of the most creative offenses in Miami....now we have Davidson and the playcalling is the same.

Guess what.....the issue is not the OC...it is the Head Coach. Fox IS calling the shots on offense.

that jeff davidson is the problem here!!! we stopped running the ball when we were down by a td...jeff runs the same plays and formation..no 2 wr sets with a rb to pound the ball nope!! he wants a convention formation then we get stuffed twice then int the next play...its a thing i have noticed with davidson as the coordinator...at least with hennig we had balance fug davidson who woulkd pick up coaches from the browns staff?? we have 2 of them dummies

Haha, how do u know it's not the same in miami?

Plus im pretty sold on the fact that he doesn't call the plays he just tells davidson what he wants.

    • Should've been: Duren and Moose: 2 each (Duren for starting it, Moose for going crazy after lol) Bridges: 3 (1 for defending Moose, 2 for escalating further with Stew) Stewart: 10 (fug that dude, came off the bench, long history already, NBA should've sent a message with double digit games)   Oh well, I think we can weather the storm for 4 games. A win tonight would be huge as the next couple after are tough, vs Houston and Cleveland. Last game against the Wizards should be a win even short handed. Then back to full strength and keep the train rolling. Still thinking we get a 7 or 8 seed and win 1 of a potential 2 in the play-ins to make the real playoffs. 6 seed and skipping the play-in entirely is a tough ask. But I do think we are better than Magic, Heat, Hawks and can pass 2 of them before the end of the regular season.
    • Hmmm... Well, one of them consistently got dumb penalties that you never see any other receiver commit like offensive offsides on 4th down. One of them consistently would just run routes out of bounds for no reason. XL's only saving grace is that he has been a solid blocker at WR for us There is a reason XL often didn't get the ball thrown to him - he made some of the dumbest mistakes I have ever seen from a receiver... Even receivers that have zilcho talent (Mingo, Terrace Marshall, and all of our other WR draft busts) didn't make mistakes this dumb. It is bad enough when you aren't helping your team because you can't get open; it is much worse when you are so bad and dumb that you are actively hurting your team. I honestly don't think there is any fixing XL. The dude is just an idiot and lacks any kind of awareness and common sense on and off the football field
    • Game planning and being the eyes from the box during the game. 🤷‍♂️ it's all I got.
