Forget Moore/Clausen, Let's Talk LaFell/Jarrett

LaFell admittedly had a horrible game. Should Jarrett start next week? I'm not on his jock but he looked like a better option for our second receiver. The coaches know more than any of us and obviously don't like him for whatever reason, but when thrown to he makes catches. His YAC is probably negative, but possession wise he is solid. So I know the hot debate this week is Moore or Clausen, but should Jarrett get a starting look over LaFell for a few games?

I just don't see where LaFell played "horrible." He had one drop. Made some nice blocks. Neither of them is a true #2 right now, so I think they will probably end up rotating them.

He didn't produce. He was targeted 8 times, catching 2 passes for 21 yards.

LaFell is going to be a good player, but DJ is the better player right now.

Yeah he was targeted 8 times. Two catches. One was horribly thrown off target. Another was a bad throw. One was a drop. One he got us 30 yds on a PI penalty. So thats 6 of the 8. I dont remember the other two. Am I saying he tore it up out there? Absolutely not, but it wasn't that bad. I'm glad Jarrett did well, though.

The PI penalty isn't counted in the targets number (not 100% certain in that).

WR is just a really hard position to learn. Let the game come to the rookie and send DJ out there.

DJ had about all of the production that you could ask for out of the 3rd WR in Carolina's offense.

By the way your avatar is absolutely ridiculous, in a wonderfully great way.

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
