Breaking Down Matt Moore

Brooklyn Bully

Recommended Posts

Freeman threw five interceptions to us last time. Moore sure does seem like a game manager by comparison.

really last time I checked 5 turnovers by a rookie pales in comparison to the same by a 3 year guy that was just handed the keys to the team. You expect a rookie to make bonehead moves like that. You would hope that he goes to the film room and learns how not to do that again. I would be more disappointed in him if he did that this year over last. Next year, if he did that crap, I would want him riding the pine, not starting the following week. You guys got rid of Delhomme due to his carelessness with the ball, so you hang on to Moore who is just as careless? How many more turnovers will you guys tolerate before he finds the bench?

Jake got canned after his 18 pick 2009 season.

The Bucs made Freeman their starter after an 0-7 start and he still managed to pull off an 18 pick season himself.

a rookie? Jake had been in the league how many years and you guys just watched as he pissed the games away. Awesome, maybe you will let Moore piss the games away too. Its nice to know that Bucs won't be at the bottom if the Carolina coaches allow for games to be pissed away by your qb.

Thanks for taking the time to post the breakdown of each game.

Imo 2007 stats are irrelvant. That would be like defending jake last year by bringing up his 06 season stats.

Nine turnovers and 9 td's between last year and this year so far.

Recievers inflated his stats quite a bit with good yards after the catch (watch matt moore highlights on youtube on you'll see what I mean).

What I have gathered is that if his first read can get open, Moore can get the ball to them and hope they make something big happen. If they can't get open quickly then Matt will likely try to force something or hold onto the ball too long.

Stats dont lie, we'll actually they can(see eli's picks against us) and really their not all that great if you ask me.

Game tape is def. a good measure of how good a qb can be.

So can one of you please tell me whats so great about this guy or do you just hate Jimmy?

most of what you said could be applied to any QB of any era at this time in their career. let's see what his body of work looks like after 4-5 games THIS season. Then we'll be able to judge him better.

Really? You really want to go there? Your Josh Johnson goes 0-6 to start last year and had 8 picks in those games. So in comes Josh Freeman and in the remaining 10 games of the 2009 season throws 18 picks (as many as Delhomme had in 2009) and he's now the Buc's starter and you've got room to talk about tolerating turnovers?

You would hope so, huh? After he threw five interceptions against the Panthers, you guys played the Jets (three interceptions), Seahawks (one interception), Saints (two interceptions) and the Falcons (two interceptions).

He threw one interception last year. I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt and not judge him off one game. Tampa fans would do well to understand that one game does not a season make.

Really? What has Clausen ever done to make anybody think he is better than average? I'm a Notre Dame fan, so I have watched him play, still trying to figure that one out.

Well I think Hurney was excited and was looking to trade up for Clausen for a reason. He showed at ND he is more than average..IMO only time will tell if that translates to the NFL.IDK if just being a game manager for Moore will be good enough to keep him here beyond this year.

I never said Moore was great and I have no problem with Jimmy. But we have seen Moore do well in the NFL so I think he should be the starter. I don't think any QB should be benched after one game. If Moore is still giving defenses the ball in 2 or 3 weeks, then yeah Jimmy should start. But as of right now, I don't see any reason to start him.
