NFL fines Martin 5 G's for hit on Boss

NFL is already polluted with too many calls. After watching the Jets/Ravens game...a lot of the holding calls on Cromartie were considered good coverage just two years ago. I never thought until this year that the refs were changing the outcomes of games. There were only a few I could name. This year there is already two and it's Week 1.

WTF does that mean... either you get hit in the head or not.

"The league ruled Friday that while Martin used his shoulder and not his head last Sunday, he hit a defenseless player in the head area, which has become a point of emphasis."

So, let's see if we can get this right-

1. There was no penalty on the play, which means the hit was okay with the refs.

2. The league admits Martin used his shoulder and did not lead with his head

3. The league now says there exists a "head area" that obviously covers an area larger than the head, meaning it extends to what point on the body? Does it include the shoulders, which is the next closest body part to the head besides the neck?

We should start a fund just for those kinda hits on the huddle. I would love to see him hit people like that every week. He cant help the guy is made of glass. I would gladly pay money each week to let people know they aint coming clean in the middle of the field and not paying for it. Good job Martin!

    • Basically agree.  He is the one of that bunch that offers upgraded pass catching along with he is supposed to be kind of special.   Then you have the OL and the ideas that if they perform you can have JAG backs and still do well. So okay we could be fine.  But Brooks is important and to me that receiving element sets him apart.  So there sure is something riding on him.     What strikes me as incongruent is people over in Atlanta or those that follow them look at Penix with a third surgery and act like it is no big deal.      And we are on pins and needles over Brooks.  Either they should worry a lot more or we should worry a lot less.
    • I usually go a game or two optimist over the consensus here but this is too early for me to say. I need to see some players on the field.  I am not feeling real optimistic though.
    • Okay as a ‘take CJ’ fan I actually don’t obsess over CJ and Houston, contrary to the narrative.  But I thought I picked up some noise that his OL left a lot to be desired.    Not a single Beyce supporter would judge him harshly if he had a crappy OL. We all know that.    So be fair about it.  A QB needs to be protected.  Especially a guy that gets to his spot and wants to finish the play from there. Which CJ is.
