Jimmy Clausen era begins?

I don't think we have anything to loose letting Clausen start and play an entire game. It's too hard to make a call on which is best without seeing more of Clausen first. We are a "very young rookie team", does anyone really think we are going to have a wonderful year against all the veteran teams?

For two weeks in a row Matt has been pounded to the ground. He has got to be quicker and faster to keep that from happening game after game. If they realize that he is going to be quick they are going to start looking at who he is going to get the ball to and not at grinding him into hamburger. Looked like Clausen did scan and was quicker getting the ball to his team. Don't think Clausen was dumb enoght to go in and make the same mistakes Moore was making and letting them make hamburger out of him too.

I will always love my Panthers no matter what, it's just going to be another long year of growing pains.

Matt Moore has played pitiful since the first preseason game and with him at QB we are screwed. We were running the ball with ease, but once Tampa saw that Moore couldn't beat them, they stacked the line. He is playing scared, his play action fakes suck, his pocket presence is Jake like and he refuses to throw to his checkdown. IMO Clausen gives this team a better chance to win, he looks more polished as a starter than Moore does. I really don't know what happened to Moore, I guess when they drafted 2 QB's it put too much pressure on him?

I feel I've seen enough to think Moore is a good backup that can make some good throws but is unable to handle the pressure and read the defense at a level that a a starting is required to do.

I really liked Moore and I was really sad to see him go over and "hand the team" to Clausen... I really hope Clausen can prove he was worth his draft pick and the faith the coaching staff have in him. What I have seen so far, I like, but I also liked what I saw of Moore in past years.

On the bright side, we can trade the #1 overall pick to Buffalo for their top 5 and a 2nd or 3rd. Then they get Jake Locker, we get AJ Green, we then have a potentially competant young QB with a potentially competant young WR. Who'd a thunk it possible?

We will trade completely out of the first round and have 3 2nd roun picks and 3 3rd round picks.

Clausen threw a pick trying to get it to Goodson seven yards away. To hail him as clearly better than Moore at this point is absurd. Right now, they both look like garbage.

Claussen is horrible.

He stares down receivers and has no arm. (Did you see how much effort it takes him to throw the ball?)

Carolina's QB of the future is not on the team at the moment.

Some people definitely see different games than I do...

I do think he does stare down his guys a bit too much at times, but he's a rookie, and he's learning.

I swear, people on these boards expect Clausen to walk on water, throw a touchdown on every snap, read defenses better than Manning or Brady, all while never having started an NFL game...

Understand the rationale, but trade what? For who?

Only guy I could realistically see coming in right now is Josh McCown.

I really hate temporary benching, especially of starting QBs. If you sit 'em, leave 'em.

I also hate playing rookies too early.

There's no win for me no matter what happens here.

Moore doesn't look like the same guy as last season. In fairness, it's not all his fault, but he's definitely played a part.

I'm torn on the best thing to do now.

Torn? Clausen is clearly the answer.

And what of his "arm strength"?

How can you be a QB in this league when it takes that much effort to throw the ball 20 yards?

Mr. Scot always has commitment issues. :(
