Confirmed: $$Steal of the draft = Jimmy Clausen

Not all pics are the QBs fault. Sure they count, but that was not his point-you twisted his point so you could be a smart ass. That makes you a dick. If you think that was Clausen's fault, hang him. I didn't see it that way. Clausen did well. If you didn't see positives, you are the idiot.

My point is, last week everyone was criticizing Charles Godfrey, and saying because his picks were tipped that they didn't matter, or were less significant. So I used that same logic with Clausen. pure sarcasm, but if you can't see that he was effective when he was called upon, and moved down the field, then you didn't watch the game.

at least he gave me something to cheer about. He actually moved us down the field. If we could of punched it in the game would have been more interesting, but we still would have lost. Anyway Jimmy in one series completed more passes that moore the whole game, that's sad. So with the qb's we have available Jimmy is what we should work with.

clausen is better than moore. he provided a spark to the team. it's not his fault the OC is playing the third string running back in the fourth quarter as we're trying to make a comeback.

clausen should have been given starting reps in OTA's, training camp, and preseason and he'd be at least as good as bradford. but he wasn't. he'll need 3-5 games to get as much experience as bradford now has.

why are we of the mindset that rookies absolutely must not start? there are a few as of late that have been doing well.

clausen was pro ready, he just needed the time with the first team. he didn't get it. that time was given to an untouted, undrafted 3rd string QB who moved up through the ranks by those in front of him falling to injuries and being traded away. simple as that.

time to make the move for good. give him the rest of the season because there is no chance we're making the playoffs. we drafted clausen for a reason. at this point, what do we have to gain by waiting? wouldn't it be better for him to start next season with 14 starts under his belt or start next season with no starts because we continue to stick with other QB's who are well past the point of needing to be pulled?

    • I think we have some revisionist around it here because of all the drama around Tepper's involvement. If you pull up any scouting report from the time you'll see the same take. WalterFootball's report sums up the media's thoughts on him well: "Young has everything the NFL is looking for in a quarterback except in terms of weight and height." He was the consensus top QB of his draft and the only real question mark they had about him was whether his body could hold up in the NFL. The infamous Steph Curry comparison the Panthers latched onto came from Albert Breer. The excuses I've heard for him are more anecdotal. Bryce Young's development is the only bullet point most NFL fans have on the Panthers right now. That and the coaching turnover. If you're not actually watching our games it's easy to believe this is just a dysfunctional organization that doesn't know how to unleash this talented Heisman winner.  I've seen media and fans alike run with that narrative way more than criticizing Young outright. Whenever we win there's flocks who use it as proof that the Panthers just need to be patient.
    • So maybe 1-3 vs playoff teams, going by standings as of today. I guess that is an improvement.  We are just about improved enough to be in purgatory draft wise. It really isn’t so bad in the 1st unless you really want that top QB or maybe edge guy because there are usually plenty of good players at the top but it hurts you some as get deeper in the draft.
