18 Game Season "A Done Deal"

Should keep it as is. Teams will make the playoffs early and put scrubs in for three or four games

Why would that be? At MOST nowadays a team plays scrubs for two games. That's rare too, it's usually just one. If we goto 18 games, we all goto 18. That means, during game 18 you'll see the scrubs and maybe 17 every few years. It'd be no different. I'd hate to be the coach that lost his final four games with scrubs and it made him lose home field advantage.

I honestly think if they are going to extend the season to 18 games. They really need to extend the roster by 10 extra players and really they should consider extending the playoff to 2 more teams per conference to give other teams a better chance of making the playoffs. But I'm still not a fan of the extra 2 games. Honestly takes these players all of training camp and all 4 preseason games to really getting into game playing shape and kknock the rust off from the long offseason. This going to be very debateable among the players in the league for months to come.

    • Having trouble finding all these articles saying the Raiders withheld information. Here’s the latest from Crosby’s surgeon: ElAttrache told ESPN's Adam Schefter on Wednesday morning that Crosby was "doing very well in the early part of his rehab and recovery from surgery to treat a significant meniscus tear and the related stress injury to the bone and cartilage in his knee. He is certainly on track in his planned program." "We truly respect the work of the Ravens' staff with Maxx regarding the contract physical exam. We also understand the challenge the staff faces when tasked to provide a future risk assessment based on an evaluation early in the recovery process," ElAttrache said. "This is especially challenging when dealing with an elite player like Maxx considering the level of commitment necessary for a team to obtain him. The timing of this assessment is unfortunate because the apparent risk will lessen as his recovery progresses and his return to performance over the next few months becomes clear."     So the Ravens excuse is the future risk assessment based on the physical, not that the Raiders withheld information. They found an excuse to save face publicly. They had the right to cancel the trade for no reason at all, but they’re trying to save face with the most acceptable reasoning they can find. I’ve heard and seen the Ravens getting dragged everywhere for this. You know what would be an easy way to put a stop to that if you’re the Ravens and the Raiders were actually the shady ones withholding information? Just come out and say that you were not given all the medical information. But they aren’t saying that. I guess they’re just taking the bullet for the Raiders just because?    Speculation indeed.
    • Two first round picks for a guy with very questionable knees who will be 29 this summer. Yes it is safe to say the Ravens got cold feet.
    • The salary cap is the reason we got Phillips and Lloyd
