With Jarrett going we have spot to fill

For the love of humanity, do not bring Kenny Moore in! Don't replace one bad WR with another one.

This team needs one thing. A vet WR not named Steve Smith to help this young talent and Clausen. Make the right move!!!

You know they will not bring in a vet.

I would be willing to bet they don't cut Jarrett. I just have that feeling. They haven't cut him yet, they aren't playing him (much) anyway, throw away season? Yea they will deactivate him the rest of the season and let him rot on the bench, just like they have been doing.

they don't even need to bring in a good vet. just someone who was good and wants to help a team. those guys exist. the one flaw w/ the youth movement, is they don't have those few vets scattered around to aid them.

Steve Smith is just a dick. He ain't the vet we need to help Gettis, LaFell, and Armanti.

I completely agree with you, I just don't think they will do it.

I really don't see the difference between having Moose and DJ on the team.

DJ cant get separation and Moose probably cant either. Atleast Moose can be a leader and a teacher. Moose can block. He can have a calming presence. He knows the offense.

Atleast bring him in for a workout and see if he is in shape to handle it.

Didn't Moose tell someone a month or so ago he hasn't worked out all summer? I know the guy was always in shape, but I don't see how he could go to flab to fab in time to really help us. Seems like we could use some sort of WR assistant coach or something though.

You really expect some guy to be signed a month into the season and come into a group of already established players, take the reigns and be everyones pop-pop? Smith already said these guys acted like they didn't need help at first

yes, when the established players are 3 rookie WRs.

Look at what Vinny T did in 07. Vinny didn't do poo on the field....but he helped this team. On offense there is no vet depth to help anyone. You have to sprinkle that in w/ a youth movement.

and people need to quit taking every smart comment from Smith as gold. Smith is a dick. Armanti has been learning the WR position from rookies and Jarrett.....not Smith.

    • So the last guy who had the job got hired by his former team directly into a role he has no direct experience in?
    • Hard to pass up millions for a couple of days work per week for a coaching gig in the NFL that is 60-80 hours each week during the season and a more relaxed 50 hours a week during the off season. Yeah, I'd love to see him as our DC but hard to see him giving up the cushy job there if he gets it. And he's going to be a great commentator for the network.
    • Really, I think that is where negotiations come in. If you've got a QB getting you to 10 wins but statistically he's not a great performer, then you say look you can take $22 million or you can try it on the market. Because let's face it, out there, any leadership skills that we're seeing aren't going to be on the table, it's just going to be performance and that lands him in the QB2 market, which is much, much less lucrative (although any of us would love that money).  No one is saying that Bryce will be a $50 million QB, barring something short of a miraculous jump. I'm just saying that if we are winning somehow with him at the helm, then it would be fuging stupid to dive back into the rookie pool all over again. Let's say we do hit the 10 win mark, heck, let's call it 11 and a second round in the playoffs. I think we can all say that would be a really uplifting result and one that should be doable if we have good play. What do we do then? Here's what I would offer if I were Morgan and Tepper. $25 million a year for 3 years, each year with up to $10 million in incentives for touchdowns, wins, playoff depth, being under 10 interceptions, completing a full season, passing yardage milestones, taking less than 15 sacks. Look, Bryce isn't a Ferrari, he isn't a Corvette, or a mid-level BMW. He's probably a new Toyota Sienna that will definitely get you somewhere and bring the whole team along with it, no fuss but not a lot of pizazz.  And really, it's about the destination, not about what drove you there.
