Jimmy Clausen is a Coward

Oh the good ole "Coach told him to try not to make any plays and if he isn't under pressure just run around then throw it to that kid in the 3rd row" defense huh?

Make plays for who these wideouts that can't get open or catch the ball when it's in there hands? or the oline that gives him no pass protection otherwise.

It's all on any QB's shoulders because they abandon the run game. It starts with the coaching staff not who's behind center with our offense right now.

It's all about how that O Line is playing...just pay attention. Our offensive line is the worst in the league. They can't keep their own man off our QB, much less blitzes.

OL can only block so many bodies. Ds are doing it b/c Clausen is no threat. Even when they OL does give him a pocket...AND THEY DO at times. Clausen bails out of it.....he isn't comfortable taking a snap or sitting in a pocket. He shouldn't be in a NFL field yet b/c of that.

I'll take more any day right now. Only thing Moore will do is hurt us trying to make a play. Jimmy just hurts us.

Are you serious? Moore had 2 INT's in less than 5 min and he didn't hurt us? Again throwing into double coverage to have it picked off?

To say Clausen played bad today doesn't even begin to tell the story but holy poo he was stillb better than Moore. And no...I'm on the Pike bandwagon now...START PIKE

You can't compare Moore's 5 mins trying to clean up Clausen's mess with Clausen's whole game. One of Moore's picks bounced off Armanti's arm and the other was in effect a hail mary with 14 seconds left in the game. Get real

Soooo...when Clausen come in to clean up Moores mess it was clean up time...now we can't compare it?

ROFL you are dumber than I thought you were!

I still love you though "TheRealD3al"

LMAO

I understand the whole "rookie" thing but Clausen has been playing football for probably half his life. I know things change at the NFL level i.e. speed, plays, ect. He played in a pro style offense at ND. He was said to be the most NFL ready qb. He is making mistakes an undrafted baseball player turned qb would make. I think it is more mental than anything.

I'm not saying anyone else could come in and light it up but to keep staying the course is crazy.

Why not try Armanti under center? At least his legs would make plays with our crappy o-line.

Give Pike a game and see what he has

poo give Saltman a few snaps under center. At least the d would be scared to tackle him as he may detonate.

Sorry, I'm not some wine and cheese fan. I believe in accountability regardless of experience. If he can't get the job done he needs to get off the field. My biggest concern is that he doesn't try to make plays. I'd rather see him throwing INTs then standing in the pocket looking scared to do anything. You have to take a risk to make a gain. If you keep checking down and throwing the ball away you'll score 3 points.

You're talking like u want Clausen to become the next Delhomme: throw the ball to receivers NO MATTER WHAT. Delhomme has been our best QB ever but he has always been known for making bad decisions. Clausen's likes to be more mistake-free, even though he throws the ball too low towards the O-line. Besides, our starting WRs are rookies. Give me a break

I don't see how some of you are saying the OP is wrong. Clausen has gone downfield, what, two or three times. Yet, he has checked down or thrown the ball away 95% of the time. Regardless of the O-line, a QB has to take chances down the field. If he is not doing so, he is afraid to take that chance, which I would define as cowardly.

This is my problem with him. Take a damn shot down field. I know we dont have the best receivers, but they're getting open down field. Clausen is just scared to take a shot. I was at the game and there was quite a few times where there was a receiver open down field.

Have to ask, where is Gross, Wharton and Kalil.

Those are the veterans on the offense.

Where is THEIR leadership.

Where is the QB Coach, the OLINE Coach, the Recievers coach the O-Coordinator, where is THEIR leadership.

It's not just a rookie QB and two rookie receivers.

I will J-Stew credit. I at least saw him on the sidelines trying to get blood out of a turnip.

I'm not going to call him a coward, but again this is exactly what I'm seeing. He breaks out the pocket when there's no need to. He's more accurate than Moore, but Moore is way more comfortable in the pocket. Oh, and Matt throws the ball down the middle much better than Clausen. As a matter of fact I don't recall Clausen ever throwing the ball down the middle, poo I down recall him throwing the ball down field without breaking the pocket.
