It has been rumored that our WHOLE defensive staff is not under contract?

Does anyone know the information supporting this?

If this is true, then we don't need to fire anyone, but have A LOT of hiring to do.

If this is NOT true, then it would be nice to understand the specifics behind it.

I know the Panthers are letting the staff seek other opportunities, what does this mean as far as their commitments to Carolina>?

Clarification would be greatly appreciated.

Ok then EXPLAIN IT.

Cause other than;

the Panthers have made little move to retain their coaching staff, and significant changes could be coming soon.

Multiple sources told The Herald the team has offered nothing more than one-year extensions to all current deals, which expire this offseason

Davidson is on staff, (he wont leave) -- so it leaves A LOT to be desired.

Maybe your a lot smarter than me, but I honestly dont have much information regarding our staff situation.

I think the 1 year deals are due to the fact that Fox only has a 1 year deal left.

But, does this mean EVERY COACH AT EVERY POSITION?

Valid questions.

And I would think the media could offer a more black and white picture with some insight of what to expect.

It doesn't really say anything because there's nothing to say...yet.

It's all still in flux.

It is still really early, but from what I understand; it that means that usually by this time, extensions would have been offered to everyone if their jobs were safe.

By allowing them to go and seek another job, they are saving the panthers the trouble(or saving them embarrassment) by them leaving on their own and not being fired.

This indicates that changes are going to be made, which means ultimately people will be cut loose.

Obviously nothing is FOR SURE, but you don't allow seemingly everyone on your staff to search for a job if your not planning on doing something yourself.(as an owner)

The only rumor on the offensive side was Jim Skipper going to the CFL, and Skipper scotched that rumor himself.

When you think about it, other than QB coach, what impetus would there be to make changes on the offensive side?

Rumor has it that Trgovac is going to be promoted to HC and the only staff member he's retaining is Crossman, who will move over to DC.
