Carson palmer is 4picks away from being run out of town. He has an 11.5 mil sal next year, bengals may not pay that. How ironic would it be to trade pike and picks for a damaged product, or at worst a released free agent signing. Could you imagine cowher or any other coach coming here and drafting luck, luck vs clausen as palmer the mentor? We know CAREER BACKUP wont be a panther next year. Lol im going insane.....

vet mentor is the key word, im a fan of the idea of a franchise qb, not the player, if clausen doesnt work then on to the next thing.

Ps I met CRA at the game yesterday. I didnt ask for his name but it must have been him because he was the only person wearing a moore jersey at the game....

How many check downs/fumbles is Clausen away from being run out of town? I have to give him credit though because he is fighting for something. It took Trent Edwards a few years in the league to earn the title "Captain Checkdown" but Jimmy thinks it his and he will take what is rightfully his.

Seriously though what makes you think Palmer would want to mentor two young QBs? IF he gets away from that circus that is Cincy he will be a productive, starting QB again.

Ah, I see - would like the Panthers to get a vet QB as a mentor for Clausen, but I doubt Palmer would be willing to accept that role... if the Bengals are willing to part with him he will get several offers to play where he would be the starter from day 1.

Makes total sense, I knew if he didnt look like elway or montana handing off to runs up the middle and throwing to rookies, he was not gonna cut it here. Thanks for opening my eyes

I don't know about bringing Palmer in. I think even if you're looking for someone to mentor, there are probably better options out there.

To be honest, I wish we could have kept Delhomme, but I know our coach lacks the self control needed to keep him on the bench.

lol even if delhomme started the season as the 3rd qb he would be starting by now.

Haha he doesn't even look like the QB of my 10 year old brothers Pop Warner team handing it off. At least in those games I am SURE the QB/center and QB/RB exchanges are going to go smoothly.

    • The good thing about replacing a bad player is you really have nothing to lose. If their replacement is bad so what, you didn't get much worse and probably saved money.
    • I came over from the old Panthers Insider site. When Fox Sports bought that platform it slowly just started dying plus the guy who ran that site was dealing with some pretty significant health issues so the whole thing just slowly fell apart. Quite a few of us migrated over here. Not sure how many are still around.  I miss that place. It struck a nice balance of having enough active posters to keep productive conversation flowing but didn't have so much traffic that you end up with a lot of trolling BS. This place is getting there though since we shutdown new registrations but at some point we're going to have to open it back up or we'll watch this place slowly die off too as posters fall off for one reason or another. We just have to figure out a way to filter out the spam bots. It was a never ending battle to ban the spam bots to keep then from overrunning the site. You'd think they'd be a little more strategic. I mean, if you fill a site with nothing but spam people are just going to stop coming so it's not a sustainable model. But nope, every one of them makes dozens of duplicate threads filling up pages upon pages as soon as their account goes live.
    • lol...I don't remember that.  Although recalling what I had for breakfast yesterday is sometimes a challenge.  Hope it was a positive thing.
