I even drove in Manhattan for the first time ever. Wasn't that bad. Just have to be aggressive, for driving and really anything else there, which alot of people mistake for rudeness I think.

Fwiw, I am a big guy (6-4 and 260 lbs), so I like to get on before most other people do so I don't have to step on them to get on the plane. I can be seated, relaxed and reading my book when everyone else is still jostling each other.

If i happen to have the same flight as you, we would have seats together. i always get the biggest dude on the plane next to me. Never fails.

ever been to New York?

as for French rudeness..i have a good one. First time i went to France, i was supposed to call my taxi from a certain set of pay phones in Degaulle. Of course they dont work. So i see a "Welcome Desk" close by. You know for tourist info etc...So i go up to the desk, and in my poor french that Id been practicing for a month, I ask the smarmy French guy, Escu vous comprenez l'anglais, i.e. "Do you understand English?

He replies, "Yes, and i speak it too" pfft...haha, my very first interaction with the french.

Yeah, they don't appreciate it when you try and speak their language. When I was in France we were treated VERY rudely.

As for Spanish, anyone who speaks the language is more than willing to hear how good your Spanish is. Never met someone in South America or in Europe who didn't want to speak Spanish with me.

Yes I have been to New York.

What pisses me off is when the first people to board just stuff their carryons into the first overhead bin although they are in the back of the plane and then there's no room for the people who actually are sitting there and the people in the front have to put their overheads in the back creating a cluster eff when deplaning.
