Slippery little suckers

We have watched what, 5 games this year? I don't recall a single fumbled snap by anyone not named Clausen in our matchups.

Bradford has got to be close to leading the league in turnovers. I guess he is hopeless too.

Clausen has a problem with snaps because he's trying to move too fast and not securing the ball. It's a rookie mistake that will correct over time. One thing he's not doing is throwing a lot of interceptions by any measure so pick your poisen.

just sayin....we have watched 5 Panther games now. Only QB fumblin in those games has been Clausen....which means it is not the ball. That is what this thread is about.

Clausen has 6 fumbles. None were forced.

Bradford has played every game. 0 fumbles.

One guy has a fumbling problem. One doesn't. Why are you bringing up Bradford?

and yeah, if you don't look down field and check down...you generally don't throw picks....well, unless you throw lows balls those tend to eventually turn into picks being batted around. But let's try to stay on topic....

Also before looking at Bradfords TO Number you need to see him play first. I know at least three of his interceptions have been late in games down by a considerable margin forced to try and make plays... One was a hail mary, another a 4th and goal, a couple more down big trying to make plays.... I only know this because I'm in St. Louis and at the bar the Rams games are on the big screen.

Don't let stats tell the whole story for you... it will mislead you.

Logic doesn't work with these people. It's either Clausen is god or you are an idiot. There is no room here for real analysis.

No one that I've seen said Clausen is God. We are simply saying he's a rookie, was drafted in the 2nd round, this team suck, let's stick with him through the year and see what we have.

this thread is about his fumbling issue......we all should be able to agree he has one and that it is an issue......and hope it gets better quick.

I watch the Rams play every single week. I have Sunday ticket and have seen all their games including thier game last week against the Lions. I've done a lot of work in St. Louis and followed the team in recent years. So rest assured I am not being misled any more than fans who think a rookie quarterback is the overwhelming reason why the Panthers are 0-5

The classic double standard happened last week when I watched Bradford have a ball tipped by Suh and promptly intercepted by Suh. Yet no one talks about Bradford throwing low or missing audibles or being top 3 in the league in interceptions. He gets a break because they have had some success albeit against terrible teams.

I am pointing out Bradford because he and Clausen are both rookies. Yes Bradford is having more success than Clausen right now. The jury is still out on both.

it's clearly an issue. agreed it needs to be corrected quick. but we should also agree that clausen's fumbles are not the difference in any game he's played in this season. i could start a thread about how few interceptions he's thrown but that hasn't made a difference either.

I would say QB play has been the reason we are losing and not winning.....QB play has been the difference. I would apply that to all 5 games this season. His fumbling has impacted games b/c it impacts drives.

I think you are too fixated on Jimmy only having 3 INTs.....and what you claim that means.

    • It's been many a year since we were in December talking about how games mattered for something other than draft order. This crazy, mixed up, unpredictable, maddening, uplifting and teeth gnashing season has certainly not been boring.
    • If you look at Brown and Horn's contracts, expect to pay above what he is likely actually worth. This is the Panthers suckage tax. Ultimately, much like Derrick Brown, he has steadily improved over time and that's what you want out of your young first round draft picks. He was one of the biggest and most important question marks coming into the season and he has answered it conclusively. He is "the guy" at LT. Great news, one less position of extreme importance to have to attempt to remedy.
    • This is maddening because, well, it's so up and down. When the kid's on, he can be great. When he's mediocre, we can still win based on a strong running game and good defense. When he's bad, and over his history he's this more than not, then it's a sad show that no one could win with. How can anyone know what is going to happen right now? Really. It's like picking one flake in a snow globe and shaking it once a week... there is no telling where it will end up. Things I did see on Sunday from Bryce: his teammates love him; he can make the big throws with good protection and good effort from his receivers. He isn't afraid to run. He can rise up against the best in competition (but he can also sink to the level of bad competition).  All I can say is if Canales goes with an aggressive game plan for Bryce that leans on a hot-hand running game, the team can beat anyone. If there's any wishy-washy play calling, then Bryce melts and couldn't beat anyone.  Maybe the person Bryce needs to win over more than anyone is Canales.
