What's up Panther fans! I know it's been a tough season for both of our teams, of course that's an understatement! None the less, i'm still looking forward to the game Sunday. 9ers finally got thier 1st win of the 2010 season today against Daaa Raiders. Obviously it would be great for the 49ers to win back to back games but I know the Panthers will be playing for more than just a W. They are playing for thier jobs at this point, much like our players and coaches were today.

So far this season, the 49ers have been thier own worse enemy if you ask me. In our first 5 games we consistently shot ourselves in the foot with costly turnovers. Today was the 1st game of the season where we didn't get in our own way! The 49ers are a better team than thier record indicates. If you've watched any of the 49ers games this season, you'd probably understand why I believe this. Of course none of that matters seeing how we're 1-5.

Mike Johnson has taken over the play calling for Jimmy "half dead" Raye. Raye was fired earlier in the season because his playcalling sucked! Johnson's done a good job of getting the ball to our playmakers since taking over. TE Vernon Davis and WR Michael Crabtree who've each had a TD in back to back games. Of course Pro Bowl RB Frank Gore is our best player on offense. Gore was 2nd in the NFL for all purpose yards heading into week 6. He only added to those numbers today with 149 yards rushing.

I'm not to familiar with the Panthers to be honest. What I do know is they have 2 good RB with Williams and Stewart... along with one of my favorite wideouts S.Smith. What's your thoughts on the game? Who wins? Who should I keep an eye out for on the Panthers roster that isin't a house hold name?

:D

You got all the "household names" with Smith, Williams and Stewart. Nobody knows anyone else on the team, not even the most avid fans. Youngest team in the league, some of the Panther players still get up and deliver newspapers on their bicycles at 6AM.

You'll not see any Panther players shooting themselves in the feet. Hell, if it wasn't for gravity, Panther QBs couldn't hit the grass.

so what's it like to have your OC fired? it must be great!

When I woke up and heard Raye was fired... I screamed with glee! :D

How much blame do you put on your coaching staff for the 0-5 start?

Most 9er fans believe our coaching staff is what's holding this team back. Of course there are several fan's who believe Alex Smith is what's holding the 9ers back. Of course it has been both but some people can't seem to get it. I think both the playcalling and quarterback play improved today and it should only get better with time. So basicaly, it's great to fire a shitty OC!

Welcome and nice post 49er. Congrats on beating the Raiders. (Wished we played them). Panthers will be coming off a bye.....that means our OC has had time to come up with some nifty plays. Of course, would take him a lot longer to convince Foxy to use them. Turnovers are they key....if you guys turn it over a bunch, we have a chance.

    • I mean as far as his size goes it's all over his tape bouncing up and down on his toes in and around the pocket trying to see the field and defenses know this as well as we do but if folks here want to live in never never land and pretend it's not a thing that's their prerogative. Even our head coach has made it a key focal point to get his footwork under control. But it's still something Bryce is going to be tested on early and often no matter how many keystrokes anyone here commits to the narrative it isn't an issue.
    • It speaks volumes that when asked to define a clear performance threshold the responses instead fixate on Bryce's size. It reinforces what’s been clear for a while now... that for some, it has never been nor will it ever be about production. Any struggles will always be chalked up to his frame, and any strong play will be downplayed or disqualified via highly mobile goalposts.
    • It is hard not to feel hopeless. There is some hope buried behind a hopeless wall but the hopeless wall is thick.  Going off of the last two games I don’t see how we win.  Team looked utterly defeated on Thursday, kinda like the Leafs did when the Panthers tied the series 2-2, and we all know how that ended.  I hope for the best. I will at least turn on the game for a little while.
