I guess I should ask you, how's your 49ers o-line?

They are inconsistent! They played like poo today! There are games where they look like they finally get it then there are days like today where you pull your hair out.

We have two 1st round rookies playing on the line with RT Anthony Davis and LG Mike Iupati. They have room to improve for sure.

I'll tell you what! Rookie Saftey Taylor Mays has played great in his 1st 3 starts! keep an eye out for him.

The 49ers defense is better than the Panthers. We held Jason Cambell to 28 passing yards with like 10 minutes left in the 4th quarter... he finished with what 80 and 2 interceptions? we have a good run defense and we get pressure on the QB. Over the last year we have been in the top 5 in run defense. So far they aren't there yet but we are heading in the right direction.

You have to do more than just shut down Gore. We have players on offense that make you respect the pass. Alex Smith is not the best QB but he CAN make plays. With Vernon Davis, Crabtree, Ted Dinn, Josh Morgan and Brian Westbrook we have playmakers that can stretch the field. I think Vernon Davis has a big day come Sunday.

Yeah I see. You guys moved up a few spots in overall defense because of the Raiders game. 10th overall, we're 12th overall.

We're 5th against the pass, 26th against the run,

You guys are 11th against the pass, 20th against the run.

I just noticed our pass D is #1 in opposing qbs passer rating with the opposing qb having an average of 66.6 against us. Third in interceptions.

True, and the saddest part is, we have had decent field position in most games, due to turnovers or a good return game.

The Godfrey pick against the Bengals comes to mind, we get a return down to the 30, and throw a pick the very next play. When we get the field position, we do nothing with it, except go backwards. Think about the end of the Saints game!

Come to the game. It will be like going to a 49ers home game. Our bandwagon fans leave after halftime. I was probably the only panther fan left at the end of the Tampa game and I didn't even know Tampa had fans!

Which one are you in the picture in your avatar? :D

I'm thinking about it, I live in Tampa so not to far away...

The panthers are in a $hitty situation right now, not playing very good football outside of the defense. But i feel that our fanbase expects alot. You would think the end of the earth was near with the crazy threads and moronic posts that have been made since the season started. I think its a result of being almost spoiled. This is the panthers worst start in 12 years, and even in "down" years the panthers have been in the area of .500. The defense is young and fast and set up for continued success down the road with Meeks. The offense has an underacheiving O-line with inexperienced youth at its most important position (qb). Hopefully over the bye week the oline can gel, and the qb's (whoever starts, moore or clausen) can develop a report with the receivers. I think the offense will be better and the defense will play up to snuff. But the 49ers have to much offense and avery good D. I predict...49ers 20 panthers 13. FWIW

What's up Panther fans! I know it's been a tough season for both of our teams, of course that's an understatement! None the less, i'm still looking forward to the game Sunday. 9ers finally got thier 1st win of the 2010 season today against Daaa Raiders. Obviously it would be great for the 49ers to win back to back games but I know the Panthers will be playing for more than just a W. They are playing for thier jobs at this point, much like our players and coaches were today.

So far this season, the 49ers have been thier own worse enemy if you ask me. In our first 5 games we consistently shot ourselves in the foot with costly turnovers. Today was the 1st game of the season where we didn't get in our own way! The 49ers are a better team than thier record indicates. If you've watched any of the 49ers games this season, you'd probably understand why I believe this. Of course none of that matters seeing how we're 1-5.

Mike Johnson has taken over the play calling for Jimmy "half dead" Raye. Raye was fired earlier in the season because his playcalling sucked! Johnson's done a good job of getting the ball to our playmakers since taking over. TE Vernon Davis and WR Michael Crabtree who've each had a TD in back to back games. Of course Pro Bowl RB Frank Gore is our best player on offense. Gore was 2nd in the NFL for all purpose yards heading into week 6. He only added to those numbers today with 149 yards rushing.

I'm not to familiar with the Panthers to be honest. What I do know is they have 2 good RB with Williams and Stewart... along with one of my favorite wideouts S.Smith. What's your thoughts on the game? Who wins? Who should I keep an eye out for on the Panthers roster that isin't a house hold name?

:D

honestly? why do you have an account on every team's mb?

We beat these guys if we score at least 20 points. I see it 20-10. We have to shut down DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart. Steve Smith is their go to guy. Clausen is a rookie we can get to him and put alot of pressure to get him to committ a couple of turnovers. Their Defense has Dan Morgan but other than that I feel we can run and pass on them.

Some names you might not know:

Gary Barnidge Tight End- hasn't done poo this year just like the rest of our offense, but is a young guy who has shown flashes of brilliance

Sherrod Martin and Charles Godfrey FS and SS- two young safeties who are improving each week

James Anderson Linebacker- Leading the league in tackles as of this afternoon idk how....oooh wait its because our d is always on the field

It makes me sad I can't talk to you about Thomas Davis linebacker, this guy was having a pro bowl year through eight or so games last year, blew out his ACL, came back this summer and did the same thing

Greg Hardy and Charles Johnson D-Ends- Hardy a sixth round pick out of Ole Miss has shown flashes of brilliance, Johnson is our most consistent pass rusher

Mike Goodson RB- third string back but is playing great this year as a kick-returner, he is bound to take one back soon, he has been one tackle away numerous times this year

Basically our offense blows due to: no wide-outs (we don't know yet if Smitty is going to play, my guess is no), a terrible right side of our o-line, a running game that never has a chance to get going for multiple reasons (we are always losing, teams stack the box against us), and no consistent play at the qb position.

Clausen is really a toss-up at this point. I have gone from thinking he was the future, to thinking he was a bust, to realizing he probably needs more time to prove himself
