Tom Brady on Ravens: "They talk a lot for one win in nine years"

New England's 23-20 comeback overtime victory over the Ravens wasn't enough to get to Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs to stop talking.

After the loss, Suggs said that Tom Brady "made some plays . . . But like I said, he just better hope he don't see us again."

"Well, he had his chance so maybe if he gets another chance he can try to back those words up," Brady said in comments transcribed by the Boston Globe. "We play those guys a lot and they've only beat us once . . . they talk a lot for only beating us once in nine years."

I hate the Patriots, but Id loved it when Brady was trying to get the refs to flag Suggs on roughing the passer, and Suggs got in his face, and instead of backing down, he started jawing back, and led the team down the field to tie it up. I still hate Brady and the Pats, but I thought was pretty damn cool.

but, he's white! Thought you had to be black to be a great quarterback

You've never heard me say that. Im not built like alot of dudes here. Giving props to a white QB thats great at what he does doesnt make me feel like a sellout to my race. It doesnt make me feel like "black trash". Saying a white QB could do something better than a black QB doesnt bruise my ego. I'm not gonna tell the Panthers, if they bring in a white QB I wont cheer for them anymore. Hell Ive been cheering and supporting the all white QB squads we've had for years. You've never seen me say every QB that plays for the Panthers should be black. You've never seen me try and make a white guy seem stupid for suggesting a QB thats white. I dont make it my life's mission seeing them fail, or telling teenage white kids they'll never be QBs, play kicker instead. There's a social context for all of that fear and insecurity folks have when it comes to a young black man being potrayed as their "savior" that blacks just dont have when it comes to white QBs.

how did that terrelle pryor guy do on sat? oh wrong thread

Better than Jimmy Clausen last Sunday. Terrelle will be starting next time his team plays, will Jimmy? I suppose Jimmy never lost at Notre Dame. And when he did, did people instantly use that as justification why he shouldnt even be given an opportunity to play QB? Only a black QB.

    • If you need someone to run your multi-billion dollar business, maaayyyybe don't hire a guy whose previous work experience includes repeated blows to the head and literal brain damage but IDK.
    • Extrapolate that with every QB for that matter. I guarantee you there's quite a bit of missed opportunities and yards left on the field for everyone. Many NFL QBs deal with WRs not putting in A+ effort, subpar o-line play and other deficiencies. The great ones are able to rise above these issues and create opportunities for plays. Guys like Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes can both play in and out of structure, as well as find ways to get yards when things break down and mask mistakes by throwing guys open, creating opportunities from nothing, etc. Bryce Young has only shown he's able to make things happen when the rest of the team picks up his slack. Very rarely does he create those opportunities himself. When this is a consistent pattern year after year with Bryce where he shows up lackluster, it's a concern. This is year three and he should be elevating the team as a first overall pick this franchise traded up for.  He was far from elevating anyone against JAX. In fact, he needed others to elevate and create for him. Excuses may be fine for a rookie, but this is year three for the first overall pick. Not looking good so far.
    • I think the worst issue is coaching. Countless bad snaps, XL not getting his feet in or trying on runs plays, our centre being down field when he didn't need to be. All seem to be from poor coaching for me. I believe Canales is to soft to rip the players a new one when the fug up. Plus I honestly believe that Canales is slow getting his plays in giving Bryce less time to diagnose and adjust to the defence. Don't worry I could of head butted Bryce for that fumble and the 4th down throw aways but the other plays are explainable to me
