Good thing we will have a top 3 Pick, we have no QB

Has some bad throws, but NO running game. Stewart has lost a step, for some reason, and our play calling is horrible. It doesn't help Smith dropping 2 passes on key plays and then fumbling either.

The loss today was a combined BAD team effort. Our defense couldn't stop a Rams offense that throws for 7 yards at a time. Our overpaid corner backs were getting owned by 5th string WR's that no one has heard of.

Honestly I think Hurney stays and I still have faith in one of the QBs becuse this team is built to make the QBs life as easy as possible.

Really the problems are in the trenches. We can't run the ball, we're weak on the inside against the run, and we can't rush the passer. Fix those and it would make the job easier on Clausen or whichever Vet QB we bring in.

I would trade down and pick up a RG that can slide to RT if needed and a dominant DT.

We shut down all runs to the outside so if we take away the inside then suddenly we have a dominant rushing D with lot more 3rd and longs, which would make our mediocre DEs look a lot better. Get the run game back up to it's high standard of excellence and we'd be 8-8 at worst.

Yes that's our answer. Another rookie QB. That will fix this team.

exactly.

I honestly can't believe how some people come on here and think gambling with a new rookie quarterback project is going to solve all the team's problems.

Matt Moore sucks ass and so does Clausen. Pray the new GM knows how to pick a QB
Yes I agree, Moore sucks... Granted our o-line is broke this year as well but when the ball is hiked to Moore, he immediately turns to his 1st read and thats where he throws it. There were a lot of plays that another receiver was open, wide open. Yes Smith had some uncharacteristic drops but he was open on a quite a few plays.

Maybe because his lineman couldn't block anyone? That's one area I'll defend Moore.

Seems to have solved a lot the Rams issues and the Rams won today with no name 3rd and 4th string receivers.

    • I am no football savant as has been demonstrated here over and over, but I saw it.  I went for years doing the mock draft thing and researching the players that we might get around our pick, time consuming stuff. And we would get to the draft and trade the pick. All that time, wasted.  So I quit doing that. Also realized I was not a scout and would never be a scout and went to looking the videos and reports After  we picked a guy.  Maybe I would look at the 1st round, but quit that too and just looked after we picked.    When they did that trade I saw Bryce and his size and just ruled him out. Then it got to yeah they are probably going to take him, I relented and looked at some video and got to his pro day. It took me all of a few minutes to see the issues. The footwork. The arm. And the tape of games? The backyard style. I knew, what can I say?    I think it was easy for me because I had not watched a single game he played in college, and wasn’t drawn in by the hype. Had no preconceived notions and just looked at it pretty clinically.  I got in here and everyone was going “but look at what he did in college! It is the SEC, if he can do it in the SEC he can do it in the NFL!” Couldn’t reason with hardly anyone.  I don’t think I could tell you which guy would succeed between two prototypical guys with great arms and athleticism, and have no special insight into any of that. My one calling in football scouting was to see the real about what we were about to do. And you still don’t know for sure until they get in a real game in the NFL.
    • Miss Bryce sorely is possibly the most hilarious statement I have read on the Huddle in quite some time.
    • He did only throw 1 pass 20+ in that game. I think he is still struggling to adjust to the NFL. At Alabama he was able to extend plays and play backyard football. That's not only not the style of offense we have been running but his physical skills don't lend themselves to that style of play at this level.  So, the amount of issues he actually has to clean up are WAAAAAY more than I anticipated as a guy that had Bryce #1 on my board in that draft class.  I am just not seeing a reasonable path for him to clean it all up and develop in a reasonable timeframe
