Well, the interview went well. It was a bit more informal than I was expecting, but that was in my favor, I believe. It was about two hours.

They talked about what they were looking for, once that was done I had to demonstrate that I could perform the job functions on their systems, in training mode. Then, it was a listening/memory/description test. Both went well.

It's a 4-6 week process and I think I have a good shot. My brother works for Concord PD, another friend is a dispatcher.

My past may be an issue, but it's been ok for NC OEMS, NCCOB and NCDOI, so I'm praying it goes well.

Cool! I'll still say a prayer for you tonight. It seems to have worked for my neighbor. He has been without a job for 2 years and it looks like he will get on with a hospital here in Charlotte.

I used to work for Concord, but not in the Fire or Police Dept. I was with the Planning Dept. I got to know the Police and Fire chiefs and the Communications Director pretty well. They are good guys. The employee's golf tourney is held at Rocky River and you get a pretty good discount to play there.

Glad to hear the interview went well!

I had an interview with the Highway Patrol working as a dispatcher; I stayed on as a drivers license examiner because it paid more! The dispatch job seemed pretty cool though.
