Official Panthers/Saints Tailgate Thread

Weather looks great for tailgating. Sunny and high of 55. Get ready for good times, food, and drinks starting at 7am.

The tailgate this week is sponsored by 5158poundin and Tattoorhino. Both have been long time tailgate sponsors and we are thankful for everything they do each tailgating season. Tattoorhino is the owner of High Caliber Custom Tattoos located at 2024-C Asheville Hwy, in Hendersonville, NC. Their phone number is 828-694-1363. Please consider them for all of your tattooing and piercing needs. Without our sponsors these tailgates would not happen and their generosity makes the day easy for everyone who attends because everything is already there for you to enjoy your day.

Just show up, eat and drink, and throw some money in the donation bucket. 100% of all donations go towards the year end Toys for Tots drive at the stadium.

While the menu this week is still under construction, a few definites include homemade chili and homemade jambalaya with chicken, sausage, and shrimp.

FAQ:

1. Who will be there/who can come? Come one come all. It has been this way ever since we started in 2004 and it makes the day interesting to say the least. Just come on down, it's really that easy. The first tailgate started with about 8 people and since then thousands have tailgated with us, some every week. We were all noobs at one point or another.

2. Where? The tailgate is in a parking lot across the street (same side) from Picasso's located at 230 S. Church St. It's a big parking lot that borders Church, 3rd, and Poplar downtown. In particular we are in the corner of 3rd and Poplar. There will be loud music and there will be a Carolina Huddle banner up on a tent along the sidewalk of 3rd St. We are right beside the lower entrance to this lot.

3. When? We will start tailgating at 7am, going until right before kickoff. No food will be served until around 10:00 am and if you get there past 12:30pm or so don't expect any food to be left.

4. What do I bring? We provide just about everything. Food, plates, side items, non alcoholic drinks like waters, a diet soda, and regular soda. We have tents in case it rains and a few chairs if you really need one. If you drink alcohol, you need to bring it because the Huddle does not in any way provide alcohol for tailgates. If you bring your alcohol, bring some way to cool it because iced cooler space is in short supply. The weather is getting colder so your drinks will probably stay cold enough.

5. How much? We provide everything for you to have a good tailgate and leave full before going into the game. The food you eat at this tailgate is better than the heat lamp crap in the game. Take that into account when the donation bucket comes around. Consider you didn't have to bring any grill, cook, or go to the grocery store to tailgate. 100% of all the money donated goes to the end of season Toys for Tots drive at the stadium. Few other charities can claim 100% given goes to the cause. Considering you'll not pull your wallet out to buy food during the game and you can eat all you want, the expected donation is around $10/person, less for kids of course.

Parking in the lot we're at costs $25/space. You do not have to park there to tailgate with us, few people do. You can easily find spots a few blocks back for a fraction of the cost (down to $5)of this lot and just walk up. Some people take the light rail in for a few bucks.

Disclaimer: There will probably be loud music. The Huddle does not take responsibility for what is seen and heard at a tailgate so consider this before bringing children. The Huddle does not police adult behavior at tailgates.

Any other questions this is the thread to ask

I think I can speak for the entire Huddle community when I say, if you have a hot girl friend coming in from out of town who will take off her clothes and make out with you at the tailgate, please feel free to start a thread about it with pictures.

That is all.

    • I'm super excited about the guys we're getting back, and fortunately this year, outside of Robert Hunt, we haven't had any season-threatening injuries. Rico has earned the start, but I am excited to have both available.  The team is finally turning into the run-first team Canales said he wanted to be. As for JT Sanders, I think he has lost the most be being out. He is probably our best receiving TE, but with the emergence of Mitchell Evans & with him and Tommy Tremble both absolutely balling in run blocking, it will be hard to fix something that isn't broken. I'm hoping Turk Wharton can help with our pass rush. We really havent gotten to see him much due to injuries, but we desperately need anyone to provide some pass rush juice, which is what he was brought to do. I'm the most excited about Jalen Coker returning. Theilen may have been the most clutch last year, but I've watched a lot of film, and Coker was the most consistent WR we had when he was out there last year.  I think he can be an ideal #2 to Tmac. While Coker doesn't have the raw athleticism XL does, his route running, savvy, and overall football IQ simply make him better.  I think with the fact Coker can play both outside and in the slot will give our pass game more versatility.  We have been running a lot of 2 TE sets, and I think Tmac & Coker should be the primary WRs for 12 personnel. The other WRs (XL, Tremayne, Renfrow, & Horn) all have roles, but I dont think any of them can fully replace what Coker can do. I do think Renfrow will be inactive this week if everyone is healthy bc of how valuable Tremayne is for ST and as a run blocker. So happy that we are playing meaningful football heading into November. We are still almost certainly a year away, but we are absolutely moving in the right direction
