Explain to me why nobody is talking about the Colts taking a QB---am I missing something?  Anthony Richardson, Daniel Jones, and QB/WR Jason Bean.  If I am the Colts, I get a QB and if Sanders drops past 7 or so, the decision just got easier.

There's not really anyone in this draft that will be an improvement for them. If the Giants do not take Sanders he may not be picked until day 2. This is a really bad qb draft.

I got four numbers for ya, 2026.  The Colts know what this QB class is, rather is not.

I think Richardson is a joke--I did not like him coming out of college--way over drafted--maybe developmental, but not a day 1 starter....Daniel Jones can play if given tools and time--so that may be the best play

Then they will load the shed with weapons and protection this year---and watch Daniel Jones step up and become a Geno Smith---called it.

All i know is they are not getting any help in this draft. They would be better off taking a flyer on a qb day 2 or 3 and just taking someone else in the 1st.

Possibly or they could keep him as a bridge QB.

Got your bib on to catch all the drool?

I am in the minority, but I think there are some developmental QBs in this draft that will be, quite possibly, better than the top 4 (Ward, Sanders, Dart, Milroe) IN THE LONG TERM.  They will get to sit and learn.  Many were improving and posted stats equal to or better than than the top 4.  From this list, I am fans of Howard, Ewers, and McCord.  Keep in mind that I am Terrible at picking QB talent in college for the NFL---but Will Howard is going to help someone.  McCord will help someone.  Ewers is probably a career backup, but he can play.

I also like Rourke from above. Now, I am not talking about the next franchise messiah--I am talking about a guy you can develop as your 3rd qb and protect him on the PS.

You know, taking a QB this year (to be the starter) means you are likely not drafting one in 2026.  It seems teams like the Colts, Giants, Raiders, Saints, Steelers (possibly) are positioning themselves to take a QB next year.  I don't know what Cleveland is doing--Pickett?  Stephanski can't assume he has 2 years to turn it around.  I do have a brother in law who lives in Columbus--a chiropractor and OSU grad, and he tells me that people were talking about Howard to the Browns in round 2 or so, but that is when everyone was giddy about winning the title.

If they move up for anyone, I bet its Warren.  Jones and Warren could be something.

Bingo!  After Ward, any QB taken this draft will be seen as a backup or "camp competition" to the incumbent QB.  No clear cut day 1 starters after Shedeur, not even Sanders himself.  We would be stupid not to dip our toes into that 2026 QB pool as well.  Dalton is getting ancient and if Bryce takes a step backwards, we could be right there in the conversation.

I am still reading some Giant forums where these crystal meth addicts feel that the Giants will be taking a Colorado player at #3.  I just do not see it.  Wilson is their bridge and Winston behind him is a pretty good, short-term situation.  Personally, I think Daboll is a good coach and I think Schoen is the problem--along with injuries.

    • Ha-ha, I bet that went through everyone's mind.  Admittedly I don't read all the comments in a thread before I make a post. Great minds think alike!
    • Cam was hitting his stride as a QB in 2017/2018.     This is why I think stats like completion percentage are overrated. As long as a QB is clutch and makes the throws to win the game the rest doesn’t really matter. What good is a check down stat padder if they’re a choker.  Until Norv Turner (and briefly Chud) got here we put Cam in high pressure throwing situations all the time. We also ran the ball on first down more than most teams in the NFL in the Ron era. Coupled with shitty WRs, all that is expressed in his stats. I also assume Cam took the ball in his hands on many occasions rather than trust Funchess to catch the ball.    It was also never Cams job to play the game like someone else. His presence on the field dictated the game in a way that is rarely seen.  He showed he could play the dink and dunk game just before TJ Watt. That didn’t suddenly make him better than his earlier seasons. He just got put in a legit under center  passing game again for first time since his rookie year with Chud.    Ron took the quickest path to success and abused the RPO because his ass was about to get fired.    Cam never got the credit for being the cerebral player that he was. I just think when you are legitimately a human Superman, sometimes the best play is having the ball in your hands. He was a better passer than Delhomme was.
    • I don't think Canales has any problem benching Bryce or moving on if Bryce doesn't come out playing like the end of last year.  It's year 3 no more excuses for Bryce
