I saw a bunch of state troopers flying up 264 towards 95 this evening. Must have been heading there. Hope he hangs in there.

I had just left the Rocky Mount store and headed north on 95 to the Roanoke Rapids store around 2:40 or so. I had cops passing me on both sides, including the shoulder; at least 10 cars. Around the 155/156 mile marker, there were at least 30 cop cars parked on the side of the road southbound. Almost all of them had on vests and were carrying rifles. More cops were back in a field. Around the 172/171 were cops stopping each vehicle and searching. Traffic was backed up to the 173 in RR by the time I got there (my exit).

Coming back, 173 on ramp was closed and they were shutting down southbound. I took the back road to 301. There about where the sign is for the Halifax Academy, was another roadblock. My truck has a camper shell on the back, with the only a little window on the back door and no side windows. I knew I was gonna get searched. Sure enough, they searched my truck.

I hope they catch them tonight. I can't imagine living in the area; I'd be locked and loaded.

Yeah I'm kind of scared for my mama and aunts, who are all around that area. I also heard of robberies at the Subway and Cookout there as well. What the hell has gotten into people there today?

Story time. Just a week or two ago I walked home from my friends house because I was pretty drunk. About a two miles, took about 30 min to walk it. I was on my street walking up the hill to my house and two cops pull up behind me. He checked my ID and asked why I was here and told him I was walking home and asked him for a ride the rest of the way. He responded "No, I only take people to jail." To protect and serve, right?

I have sympathy for the man who got shot, and his family. But as for his line of work? Couldn't care less.

the cop died? I read he's expected to make a full recovery. The man who shot him killed himself, the woman probably won't see the light of day again
