Everette Brown, Hardy, Goodson...

SnarkAttack

FINALLY Everett Brown had an impact on this game. A few tackles, a sack and some pressures. That draft day trade still looks bad, but it looked far worse earlier in the season. Hardy played well - I think he will be an impact player in the near future. Finally, Goodson is obviously playing lights out - racking up 100 yd games with the dame o line and defensive scheming that stymied Stewart/DeAngelo. I'm predicting we won't go into next season with the same group of RB's. I saw sign Williams and trade Stewart if we can get a 2nd for him.

our core of talent is going to be solid as hell next year. this awful year may turn out to have a few disguised blessings... lots of reps for future starters who otherwise wouldn't have gotten a chance to contribute.

all three of those players could be future pro-bowlers if they reach their potential.

Hands to the face.

pressure leads to incompletions, turnovers, and sacks. don't judge the quality of a DE by his sack statistics.

Yes, Brown had an impact. He forced Flacco out of the pocket and into quick throws more than once. He had a couple of nice plays against runs where he didn't let the T set the edge, forcing the RB back inside.

Good game all around, unless you're just looking for reasons to hate.

He had an average game to me. I guess that's great compared to the rest of the defense/team :(

Perhaps you, like a lot of fans, have unrealistic expectations.

There's are a lot more factor to performance that the glory stats. Sacks are vastly overrated, not enough credit is given to the rest of the demands of the position.

I am sorry, what? Dude cost us a 1st AND 2nd round pick. Unrealistic Expectations? C'mon man. As far as I am concerned he should be right there with Charles Johnson on this defensive line. One sack, missed tackles...a bunch of spin moves that led to him being out of position. No thank you.

He isn't worth what this franchise wasted on him. He should've been picked in the 3rd round maybe the 4th.

    • No saying he mostly sucks is saying that he doesn’t suck the minority of the time.   Like if he took 17 tests and had a couple of really good showings and a handful of pretty good scores sprinkled in among the typical sub par results.   Like a golfer who went out and shot an 89.  There will be some real nice shots sprinkled in there but at the end of the day it is still 89.
    • It's worth mentioning... Game 1: Oct 11 in Raleigh. 4-3 OT win with a complete starting lineup. Game 2: Dec 13 in Philly. 4-3 SO win without Jaccob Slavin. Game 3: Dec 14 in Raleigh. 3-2 SO win with a complete starting lineup. Game 4: Apr 13 in Philly. 3-2 SO loss with the AHL roster.  Those early season games were no indication of the Canes team that finished the season. Miller and Ehlers were still trying to figure things out, Nikishin was still a work in progress and the Stankoven line was just another line. Make no mistake, the Canes team Philly will see is nothing close to what they saw at any point in the season. If the top line starts producing, Freddie stays hot and the blue line does what it does, this could be a sweep as well.
