And he did something yesterday no rookie QB has ever done. He threw for 300 yds 3TDs No ints on the road.

Say what you want, the system, the Coach, whatever... Bradford has proved he was NFL ready. Would he have done this good in Carolina? Probably not. But to keep saying Clausen is a rookie and to give him a break, is BS. If the rolls were reversed I don't think Clausen would be having as good a season as Bradford, just shedding a little light...:P

I think Bradford was handed a grilled chicken (not steak, but grilled chicken) on the plate, and Clausen was handed a whooper on a trash can lid.

No excuses for his play, but I don't even think Fox likes Clausen. the only reason hes starting is because his other options are Tony Pike (whom he apparently hates more), and Brian St. Pierre.

I do think the Panthers surround cast is OK, not good but ok, they WILL be better next year. the situation in St. Louis is *gulp* better at the moment. not to mention the sh*tty division.

Look this was a bad year to start your career on the Panthers. You got drafted by a coach who will be gone after this year and even if you play WELL you might not be here next year.

Bradford was put onto a team that already went through a struggling year with a coach in it for at least another season after this and clearly just needed a QB to be decent (they're 5-6 now)

Wait a minute! wasn't Clausen projected to get drafted a lot sooner?

Lets just get to the meat and potato's of this and be done.

I think Clausen has potential to be a good qb in this leauge under the right circumstances. I also dont think any rookie qb woudln't do good with Fox/Davidson who run the shittiest most unfriendly q.b offense in the league.(from a glory standpoint, td's, high rating, etc.)

I would like to see what he does the rest of the season before deciding if we should move on from him.

You on the other hand think Clasuen sucks, would have preferred or least say we should have started St. Pierre cuz BSP would have given us a better chance to win.

Your opinion and mine differ on that matter. So we can argue about it, or let it go. I say we let it go.

He may have had a halfway decent season had Fox named him the starter at the start of OTA/TC and started calling plays that better fit his strengths.

Rams did a great job accommodating their rookie. A lot of the players are working harder as well on that team. I've not followed much Ram football these last few weeks but early on, it seemed every time Bradford would throw a 2 yard pass, his receivers would take it 20 yards.

Whether we get Luck next season or remain with Clausen, I really do hope the new HC decides to follow the Rams strategy with dealing with a very young qb.

Yeah, Clausen is proving he probably would have benefited from sitting for a year before playing. It's just too bad he couldn't. But I do hope he is learning and will be much better next year, if he doesn't get gun shy like some rookies do after a year like he is having.

this is like comparing oranges and pickles.not nearly the same calibre qb, which is why braford went in the first round and clausen in the 2nd. Also offensive philosphy is different. Carolina is run first short pass team. Any deep passes are thrown high and to the sidelines as to not allow for ints. Rarely do you see a carolina wr run a slant down the middle or catch a ball in stride. Thats not how the plays are designed. Clausen could get more TD's in the offensive system Bradford plays in and Bradford would struggle in carolinas system.

Before this season, we were all saying the Panthers would be an ideal team for a rookie quarterback, what with their great running backs and offensive line.

No one would have said that the Rams were a better fit than the Panthers for a rookie quarterback.

While it's obvious that the Rams as a team have taken a step forward while the Panthers have taken a step back, I think you can attribute much of the Rams' success to Sam Bradford -- and not the other way around.

    • I honestly can’t believe this team’s turnaround this season. It’s surreal. Figured healthy we’d be fringe playoffs and with another lottery pick could finally turn the corner, but we don’t even need that. This group is ready. We haven’t played remotely well the last 5 games and yet still blew out 5 bad teams by 16+ each game like it was casual practice. We had a few solid teams with Kemba and Big Al but this is easily our best group since the original Hornets moved to NO. Man, what a shift in culture this new ownership group and front office has brought. So damn happy to see it after years of suffering and consistently meaningless games in this stretch of previous seasons.   Only 2.5 games out of the 6 seed, although Miami, Atlanta and Orlando have been playing well too. Gonna be a fun final stretch, hopefully we can get a top 8 seed at the very least. Celtics tomorrow will be a good test. Would be huge to keep the road winning streak up against a very hot top team on the 2nd half of a back to back. We’ve played Boston pretty well the last few years with much of this same group despite sucking so I do feel pretty good about it. Kon is due for a huge game coming off a few cold shooting games (although despite the poor shooting he’s been contributing well with defense, assists and rebounds).
    • It amazes me how underrated Horn has become after he finally was able to stay on the field. Sure last year wasn’t perfect but he was still a huge reason for our rebound defensively and I’d say he’s easily a top 10 corner. You don’t want to see Mike Jackson as our top corner. Any player is available for the right price but I’d be extremely hesitant to move Horn even for a big haul from LA.
