Clausen vs. Bradford

I like how everybody that is trying to be positive about the guy that could turn out to be our future at QB for the near future are homers, yet those being ultra-negative are realists. Theres a difference between identifying he is a failure and wanting him to fail which a few of you are struggling with.

I'm no great Clausen fan, I hated the pick, don't particularly like the guy and haven't seen a great deal of good things from him. He's still the QB of the team I support so I'm going to support him through thick and thin rather than sound like a Falcons troll, "Matty Ryan is so aweseom, it only took us 40 years to strike Gold!".

I don't want Clausen to fail, I just think Luck will be better. Clausen may very well be a good QB in the NFL someday.

By the way...the Falcons did not have to wait 40 yrs for a good QB. Steve Bartkowski (sp) was really good. The rest of the team sucked.

You are totally distorting the reality here. People wanting us to lose are wanting the first pick in the draft regardless of who is at quarterback. It isn't a Clausen thing, it is a Luck thing. People like me saying he is bad are simply telling what they see. I don't know if he will get better over time simce I dont see him in practice or watch coaches film. I am just in the group that doesn't think we have seen enough to pin our hopes and the next 2 oe 3 years on hoping he develops.

The Clausen homers know who they are. The guys who showed up after we drafted him and direct most of their posts to defending him or attacking anyone who criticizes him. They are here because of a player not the team and would be gone if he were traded.

I don't think there are a whole ton of Clausen homers left. There are a couple homers and haters, such as the people making threads about this stuff in the first place. By and large, I think most posters want to see him do well. The difference comes in saying if he's done now or not. Some just are more vehement in one way or the other.

I think he's improved over the last two games compared to his earlier games. Consider that the things that were really what people bitched about most in the dropped snaps and insane number of batted balls seem gone or limited. By no means is he a good quarterback in this league right now. I thought he would be, and I was wrong. I was also wrong about Moore last year, so I think I just lost my job as quarterback evaluator for the Panthers.

Clausen's future is in his own hands at this point. He is in the drivers seat to either Luck or... well, a record too good for Luck.

I was at the Broncos vs. Rams game (free tickets via work). Bradford was unreal. He was hesitating a bit in the first quarter, but once he hit his rhythm it was ON. He was making a bunch of no name WRs look good. They weren't open. He was throwing them open. I don't think he missed on a single throw all game. I came away certain that Bradford is a top 5 QB in the making - which is exactly what you're expecting when you spend the #1 overall pick on a QB.
