Phone Books

A couple of weeks ago I had a new Yellow Pages dropped off at my door.

It got me thinking. Who uses phone books any more? If I need a number or to search for a company that does "X", I get on-line and look it up.

Phone books need to go away and save all the trees it takes.

(No, I'm not a tree hugger, I just see the use for phone books, White or Yellow pages, any longer.)

It really is a waste of time, money and resources. Maybe they could still print a significantly smaller amount, and just leave a self-addressed card in the mail that you could send off if you wanted one?

The last time I used a phone book was right before I had interwebz on my phone, we'll say 4-5 years ago.

Before that the phone book was still comparable time and effort wise on occasion to getting on the computer to find it.

Now it is not and I'm lazy.

Can't remember the last time i used one. They go straight in the trash at home and at work. Terrible waste.

Got both back in July. I never understood why they don't pick up the old ones when they deliver the new ones, to make sure they get recycled.

Maybe DPantherman is right. I only got the Yellow pages this time. I know Bell South charges business' to be in the Yellow Book. I did see that it was much smaller.
