FB Woes

This man is sort of like my cousin. His uncle married my aunt. I've known the guy my entire life and my family has known his family since like the 1950's. We used to hang out a bit when I was little but now I know little about him.

I'm concerned because he keeps talking about wishing he weren't here but like salty said if he were really depressed wouldn't he just want to be left alone.

I have said some things to him before about getting some help but he seems to be one of those types like I talked about in the thread last week. You know the ones who ask for advice but have excuses for everything.

Basically, I've just ignored him lately.

you never know with these things.. most of the responses in this thread could be wrong.. sure, he could be an attention *****.. but you never know..

I had a friend tell me she thought she tried to kill herself one night by overdosing.. with that information, you can't shrug it off.. granted these are just FB updates, but you don't want hindsight to be the determining factor..

if all you do is tell them they need to seek professional help, at least you did something. someone has to want to get help, so I wouldn't go on any crusades.. ;)

I'm not crusading and bleys you know how I like to save people. ;)

I did just message him just for my own peace of mind with a bit of a suggestion to try to reach out for some help for his troubles and if it was money that was holding him back from going then there are tons of other places he can go. Churches, non profits, help lines... I told him the help is out there he just needs to seek it and be willing to work for it in return. I also told him I loved him. I think sometimes people seek attention cause they don't feel loved and are lonely.

    • FLA showed everyone it’s not about superstars. they bullied the best line in the NHL into obscurity. they played hard, were in the right positions, and ran over everything that got in their way.
    • That’s really not what you said and when I even expressed doubt as to your intentions with the post you doubled down and remained unclear on whether you were trying to drag Dean Smith for whatever reason. You just got the facts wrong, which if you don’t follow the local college programs like you say then maybe you just were mistaken and thought Smith didn’t win championships or have legit superstars, and that is ok, but you just doubled down when my first post was more corrective than anything. I’m not sure what you expect posting objectively false things like “RBA has a lot of wins with nothing to show for it like Dean Smith” (paraphrasing) on a message board with plenty of UNC fans. I’m not taking it as a personal affront, we can agree to disagree, Dean Smith’s legacy fortunately will not be affected by this conversation. Screw the (Florida) Panthers?
    • Bring in the free agents and trades.  Florida is the best team and unless Tulsky makes it happen, it’s more of the same…which isn’t bad…but it’s time to win a goddamn cup.
