Has there ever been a city that got the first pick in the NBA and the first pick in the NFL in the same year? Could we be making history?

I doubt the ping pong balls would bounce in our favor. We would need a lot of Luck for that to happen....

see what I did there? ;)

I posted over at BP that I love Silas, some of my best memories as a kid of Carolina sports comes from his era, and Cowens... But, I think it's unfair to bring him in this way. I'd prefer we went ahead and brought a guy like Mark Jackson in - young, and for the long term. Because now, we're most likely looking at changing coaches again in the off-season, or if Paul impresses then holding onto him too long and people asking is he too old and senile...

There's a distinctive difference in being 'Old' and 'Stubborn' Larry was both, and unwilling to ever adapt his coaching style. I don't know much of Paul Silas, but if he can overcome that wall of being "set in his ways" he shouldn't do to bad as a HC in Charlotte.

Although having a bright up-and comer like Mark Jackson wouldn't be a bad idea. This team needs some youth&energy in the worst way.

I loved what Larry brought to this team, but he knew he had lost this team and that's the worst part about.

But whatever Jordan does, he firstly needs to be rid of Gerald and Jack. They gots to go.

Right on all points... I love Silas because of what he did with the Hornets when I was a kid. He helped BDiddy develop so I'm hoping he lets DJ play and does the same there.

But, I had never heard this before but someone over at BP said Silas had banned rap music from being played in the locker room when he was with the Cavs and Lebron... So there goes that "stuck in his ways" thing. Yet, it seems most if not all players that played under PS loved him. So, hope this works out.

Also, DJ's boy told us over there that after the game last night LB said something like "I'm done with this sh*t, you guys go tell MJ that since you don't listen to me anyway..." We all knew he was a ticking timebomb, with the detonation being "quitting." Also, just read he's already looking at his next coaching job... SMH, never fails.

    • Seems to me that the Bucs have less fight in them now than they had in week 16. The real test is going to be if the Panthers can sustain focus and discipline throughout. With the Bucs being at home, maybe that gives them a little boost of confidence and energy.  Wouldn’t it be something if for ONCE the Panthers came out and dominated from the opening snap and just took this shook Bucs team to task?  If the Panthers see-saw form follows, we are in line for the W. Hard to say we have momentum but we do have a pretty clear pattern of following a loss with a win.  I’m going to say 24-16 Panthers!!
    • When Parcell’s said Bryce better “walk on water”…..the implied concern wasn’t that the tiny QB could survive being hit.  It was acknowledging he would have to be extremely special to overcome the handicaps he would face at this level.  Which he isn’t and can’t.  which isn’t just being hit.  It’s being able to play in an NFL pocket and make NFL throws from it….and that ultimately is Bryce’s problem.  He doesn’t play well from a NFL pocket and can’t make all the throws as needed.  He can’t see as others can.  Which impacts the throws he does and doesn’t take.  It also impacts him bailing and killing plays and turning them into scrambles/dead plays
    • 9:30 kick off here in Scotland, which is better than the 01:20 early hours of Monday that I feared. Will definitely be watching, but probably wouldn't if it had been 0120 as I need to be up for work at 05:45. Falcons Saints is 6pm on the Sunday so will watch that too if it becomes relevant
