One game this weekend...

...could give us the number one overall pick.

THM45 is correct (link). Even with all games going against us - which is unlikely - Cincinnati still cannot catch us in SoS.

That means if Denver beats Houston this weekend, the #1 pick belongs to the Panthers even if we do beat the Falcons in week 17. And oddly enough, beating the Falcons would be one of the things that would help lower our SoS (double-whammy because of the divisional factor).

If Denver loses, then naturally things are still up in the air for the final week.

But if they win, then essentially the Panthers are on the clock.

Could happen, after Houston came back on the Ravens even though they lost, I really thought they would play better, then they lost to the Titans... Denver is going to have to get it together. But they are in worse shape than us. Still say it comes down to us losing to Atlanta and I think....We Can Do It!

    • The aversion to tying up too much money in the ground game around when it’s what’s winning us games is crazy to me. I get letting Rico walk if you think he’s easily replaceable but I don’t see many people arguing that, just applying an arbitrary salary cap based on what we think RBs are currently worth. I’d rather be stuck with Hubbard as an overpaid backup (not the worst one to have, mind you) than lose out on the most productive player on the offense personally.
    • Why do people keep saying things like “it’s not Young’s fault we spent so much to draft him”? Who cares if it’s his fault?  Nobody is saying send him to jail or anything.  People aren’t talking about blame for the decision to draft him, they’re talking about how bad he is as a QB and how we’d be much better with even an average QB.  Pointing out that we sunk a lot of resources into drafting him isn’t invalidated because he didn’t make that decision himself. Doesn’t matter whose fault that was, he’s still not playing like a QB who was drafted at all, much less one that cost two firsts, two seconds and a #1 WR.
