Harbaugh as good as gone from Stanford, he corrects A.D.

Remember, Stanford athletic director Bob Bowlsby had said that "Jim has indicated he plans to accept" an extension reportedly worth $3 million a year.

Asked about Bowlsby's comment, Harbaugh said: "Maybe he misspoke."

Lol he went thru the trouble to correct the Athletic Director. Why would he do that if he wasn't going to be looking at other options after the season? And if he is going to be looking at other options.... the 40 other options, his chances of going back to Stanford suddenly drop to around 2%.

Don't think it quite translates to "as good as gone" but it's definitely not something I'd want to hear if I were Stanford.

yea i know, but think about his chances of returning after looking at all the other options? Multiple NFL teams, multiple prestigious college programs willing to pay way more than Stanford. I give it about a 2% chance of him returning. And that is very good news on the Andrew Luck front as well.

Maybe Im reading into this too much, well, I probably am.

But I feel as though Harbaugh's decision is more based on Lucks, than Lucks is on Harbaugh's.

That being said, maybe Harbaugh knows more than we do on the way Luck is leaning? :D

thats why i gave his chance of returning to Stanford 2% lol

So if he is basing his decision on whether Luck leaves or not (which I doubt), then is he thinking that he will struggle once Luck leaves and he better strike while the iron is hot? Personally, I would prefer to see how he does as a college coach when he doesn't have the best college QB in the nation. Might give NFL teams a better idea as to how good of a coach he really is.

Maybe good for us.

Maybe Traidden is reaching a bit.

1 more game, and the new era begins.

Thank God. First thing that needs to happen is Richardson clean house the week after the last game. That should stem the PSL bleeding that is happening. It won't stop till a new HC is named, but he needs to act FAST to salvage the fanbase.

I dont think he thinks he will struggle, but he may think that he brought Stanford about as far as it can go, and losing his top QB that helped him get there, maybe he thinks it may be time to move on to the NFL, or a big name football school

    • Here in lies the rub that the supporting posters continue to ignore. He wasn’t a 2nd round pick in the 2025 class, especially with an ACL tear. It was a dumb pick for any GM who looks ahead to determine values. C and CB were much better values than an injured RB in 2024. If a RB isn’t even playing much in 2024, you have to compare him to 2025. We’re beating a dead horse but only because the defense of the pick is almost comical at this point. We’ve made a ton of poo picks and moves/non trades while Morgan was GM and the assistant GM. It happens, we don’t have to jump through hoops to act like we just had some really bad luck. The 2025 draft class is unknown so far but damn it felt way better afterwards for the first time in a long time. Embrace the potential and stop stamping guaranteed on the box of poo of the 2018-2024 drafts. We are were we aware because of them and 2025 has to hit so we can get past the 7 win max in 7 year hurdle.
    • Oh for those tired of the Mannings I have bad news, Peytons son Marshal already has college teams after him and he isn't even in HS until this fall...   I'd wager we have two Mannings in the NFL in 2030
