We are not going to give up on a rookie QB. No matter how bad he has played. HE IS A ROOKIE!!!!!!! Rookie qbs can take years to develop. I think Bradford's success has our fans questioning Clausen but people need to realize that having a rookie Qb as good as Bradford (who broke PEYTON MANNINGS rookie completion record) is very rare and most NFL rookie qbs struggle their first year. Not to mention we don't have a great offense to help support Clausen.

He isn't very good; but he has a good contract for a back up. Especially, for a back up that could (under an offensive coach like Harbaugh) show something in preseason that could raise his value.

I think Clausen will be cut assuming we get an aggressive and knowledgeable coach. It's time this team starts moving on from their mistakes and instead of repeating them. This team kept Dwayne Jarrett for far too long and he never improved. JC has been absolutely awful and he clearly doesn't deserve any of the play time he's been given. After plenty of starts he repeatedly makes the same mistake and has shown me nothing.

I wouldn't mind seeing Clausen and Edwards released before the start of next season. I want players not projects.

I really feel thats what will happen. The team retained Weinke after his bad rookie season thru a coaching change. I just dont see JR giving up on the kid that quickly. Not saying they wont get other QBs, but he will be here.

when you have 3 spots on the roster and drafted a QB in the 2nd round, just last year.. why would his performance in an extremely down year require you to cut him?
