Where Does Clausen Play Next Year?

Many expected a second rounder--we can say he was a top 10 pick but now you know why teams desperate for QBs passed on him--to overcome rookie WRs, 3 scrubs on the line, an inept Offensive Coordinator, and win games. When has that ever happened? Look at Manning's first year in Indy. As much as Clausen showed why he wasn't ready (or Moore, or Pike, or St. Pierre, etc), the fans showed how quickly they turn on a player.

I really feel thats what will happen. The team retained Weinke after his bad rookie season thru a coaching change. I just dont see JR giving up on the kid that quickly. Not saying they wont get other QBs, but he will be here.

Correct. WHy get rid of him now? He has not played with variables that make a QB good. Give the guy a fair chance.

Edit: separate from the comments above.. and for the record... I wouldn't compare Pat White and Clausen.. the outcome may end up being the same, but hindsight is hardly a worthy prophet..

I wasn't making a comparison in terms of QB play.

Just simply pointing out teams will part with guys after 1 season....even 2nd round picks. If you don't work, you don't work. Carolina will part w/ at least one drafted QB. I don't think they will part w/ both but Clausen is so bad I wouldn't totally rule it out after the new HC gets in here and goes through camp.

Seattle, Pete Carroll tried to recruit him to USC and i think he would trade a 5th or 6th round pick for him or sign him when he's released with a darkhorse canadiate being the Redskins.

He'll be playing Wide Reciever for us next year on the practice squad. I figured we did it with Edwards, why not Clausen.
