I dont get why Fox is 'high on everyones coaching list'

The guy is worthless as a HC. Maybe he is a damn good DC but it has been a long time since he has done that, and this Tampon 2 that was forced on us sucks.

The guy can't put together back to back winning seasons. When it goes bad he goes in a shell, puts on a 'I really dont have time to be bothered with this' look and says 'It is what it is'.

At one time this man had THE best front 4 on defense in the NFL, we had a team that should have been in the playoffs at least 4-5 years in a row talent wise and STILL couldn't do poo with it.

I feel for the next fools that think this guy is the answer as HC. I just wish it was a division opponent.

that is just the media. the media claimed teams would go for Clausen.....

Fox has already been looking for jobs and was passed over for the likes of Chan Gailey. It ain't like he hasn't been looked at yet. That is what teams think of Fox as a HC. Fox is what he is. Teams know that. The media doesn't as they never have a clue about anything Carolina related.

Fox is a very good HC. His teams were always competivie and he has made it to the SB and two NFC Title games. Coupled with the right FO he will be successful. It isn't just the media that fills this way.

Fox isn't a very good HC. He is a decent HC. Not much more. Very good HCs have consistantly good teams.

Jeff Fisher has had a rep for being one of the best coaches in the league, but I bet if you take a look at his win-loss record you'll find it's not as good as you think.

Getting to a Super Bowl, even when you don't win, does a lot for your rep in the league.

Add in that other than this season, he's never had a team finish less than 7-9 (a lot of coaches can't say that) and his teams have always played hard and never bailed on him.

Other teams looking at him could tell themselves it was Hurney's fault or Richardson's fault, and objectively speaking, that could turn out to be true.

I don't want to keep Fox, but I can understand why someone else would give him a shot.

Yeah I forgot winning is unrealistic. With the talent we have had we should have been in 2 more superbowls, but Fox couldn't pull it off

That's a homer statement. There were other very very good teams talent wise in the NFC.

His peers sees what he does and has tremendous respect for him. Honestly I give their opinions & other front office opinions more credit that I do us homer fans in evaluating coaching.

Because NFL executives tend to know more about football and the ends and outs of coaching than fans do.

Regarding talent, our fans greatly over estimated our talent. The only year we really had healthy, superbowl contender talent was 03. THe other years, our offensive talent wasn't that good. Maybe in 08, we had good talent, but thats about it.

Well Fisher has been saddled with a 'Cam Newton' type QB, look where it has gotten him.

Word is fisher is going to sit down with Bud 'I flip off opposing fans' Adams and tell him he isn't working with Young anymore and Adams needs to make a decision. According to the Crypt keeper John Clayton, Adams just sent out christmas cards with him and young on it so....

Jeff Fisher as next Panthers HC?

    • Yeah not taking that Burns trade was infinitely stupid. We seem to be finally righting the ship but, imo, our biggest issue since Tepper bought the team has been coaches and management having a poor understanding of where our own roster is at. Starting with that idiot Rhule drinking his own kool-aid and thinking he was going to come and take the NFL by storm with Teddy freaking Bridgewater. Could have just kept Cam on the last year of his contract and gone from there but noooo that fat slob had to feel like he was the big man on campus. First round wizard Marty Hurney who, for whatever his faults, has a freaking HOF track record with first round picks, wants to trade up for Hebert but fat fug Rhule says no. Then we kept Rhule for 3 years which is absolutely unbelievable to me and every single year he treated our roster like it was just one player away trading our draft picks for Sam Darnold and Baker Mayfield who have proven since leaving that Matt Rhule was an even bigger idiot of a coach than we thought. We finally seem to understand we are a ways off and trade CMC, but then we don’t take the actual good trade for Brian Burns who was never better than a run of the mill situational pass rusher. Then we botch the self scout of our OL (and team) after Wilks, even though they were bad before Wilks simplified the scheme, thinking they can execute whatever the hell Reich and Brown were trying to do. So we win a couple meaningless games playing dummy ball and Fitterer thinks we’re a player away again. And nobody even considers that having the slowest receiving corps imaginable with Damiere freaking Byrd, who can’t even make it to the season before being injured and cut, as your only hope for speed, coupled with the worst pass blocking OL I’ve ever seen, might lead to titanic levels of disaster. The way Canales and Morgan have been adamant about constantly bringing competition at every position has been refreshing and made a huge difference. I was kind of worried that we had fallen into our old ways leading up to the draft with all the talk of defense only and worried that they might feel the offense was set. Very glad to see they were not complacent on that. My big thing now is I’m still wondering why Evero is still here. I can’t think of a single player who has gotten better under him, and the Broncos defense got better once he left. We’ll see.
    • really good interview that gives some insight into their decision making process in making up the schedules and the issues they run into with so many people broadcasting games now. also some interesting discussion on what they have going on and where they might be heading in the international games. vikings have 2 of them, btw. we might be seeing more of that.
    • wow i absolutely LOVED watching that.   will watch again...and again...and again.
