I don't understand firing of the entire coaching staff

Ok what does it mean in the NFL when a team fires their entire coaching staff? Does that mean a big name coach is coming in? Or what?

The reason i ask this, is b/c all the teams in line for coaches just "fired" the coach. Not the entire staff. Does doing this make our opening of HC more attractive to people? *cough* harbaugh *cough*:confused:

It means the team will give the next head coach full leeway to choose his staff, and it doesn't preclude his hiring some of them back.

Anything beyond that is really just speculation.

Did the national media announce that the Panthers released Fox and his entire staff or just the local media? I think the national media just said Fox is gone (didn't say anything about his staff). When Mangini was released was it just him or his entire staff too?

It really means their contracts were up, not sure why this is so hard to understand.
