Harbaugh back to Stanford?

Mr. Scot

Recommended Posts

No, but as I said I would expect them to interview other non-Rooney rule candidates simply as a matter of standard process.

I wouldn't. Not if Harbaugh is the guy they really want.

Now if, on the other hand, they think they might not be able to get him...

If I was Harbaugh and I wanted an NFL job I wouldn't wait til next year, considering all the positions that are open around the league right now that won't be open next year..unless he's been dreaming to coach the Lions one day..

now when does Harbaugh have to decide, or is there even a deadline? this would suck if he doesn't make a decision before the draft deadline...

No official deadline, but teams won't wait forever.

I'd say he has until February at the latest. More realistic answer would be mid-January.

Stanford will push him to decide before then. Much like Pete Carroll this will all be done extremely quickly. Stanford needs to know whats going on and get a new head coach in right away (if needed) to keep their recruiting class together....

I counted something like 28 seniors on the squad. I have no idea how many are starters or what it might mean to how good or bad they will be next year. But to assume they will be better next year may or may not be true. Plus one injury to a guy like Luck and their season is done.

This is a point I brought up last week. They have a ton of talent walking out the door. Their top 3 WRs, top 2 TEs, one of their top RBs, 4 of their starting offensive lineman, top 2 DBs, 2 of their LBs and their fullback just to list some. That doesn't include any juniors who decide to bolt after the success the team has had. Stanford will not be the same team next year, not even close....

That's thinking with your brain.

A high profile head coach generally thinks with his ego.

Let's all stop being paranoid and worrying...Harbaugh or no Harbaugh, Luck or no Luck, the offseason will have more buzz then it's ever had in Panthers history...

And there are other guys out there besides Luck/Harbaugh..sure not with the same hype, but if we can't get one or the other or both..that doesn't mean this draft is doomed.

    • Carolina Way is gone, it went out the window with the Belichick hiring. They'll hire the best coach they can, ignoring everything else if possible.    Athletic reports that the school's top two targets are Tommy Lloyd and Billy Donovan. They don't care the buyout for a coach either, they and the boosters are willing to spend and will be going outside of the coaching family tree 100%.
    • I don't think it's a homer though when I really feel this team can beat anyone.  The points that can be scored in bunches when the big three are on has high potential.  Moose has effort for days and IMO is the heart of the team.  And didn't see Miles becoming the team "vet" in the starting lineup just roleplaying lol.   We have to limit the turnovers though (Brandon Miller I'm looking at you bud, you are a bad ball handler) and some little things.   Colby off the bench is a cheat code and him and Kaulk have a nice little game going with the picks.    Sion playing every game and just getting better each game.  He has grit.  Grant and Green also grit.  We need replace Tillman with PJ Hall though.  Tillman looks like someone that shouldn't be on an NBA court, or at least with this team, he's just too slow for this tempo.   Even McNeely looked decent tonight and can drive.   If Kaulk and Moose could even be like 30% 3pt shooters man....
